Watched extended highlights. My mate Wood tried to gift them a goal 1st H. They had most of the play but we kept them at distance for most of their chances. If it had been us I'd have been disappointed if that Tilt goal would have been disallowed. Robertson involved in both our goals, hope that gets him back in his natural centre back position. Clarke can play left back if needed. Playing another side higher than us next Saturday Oxford, another test. I'll be there.
Tilt didn't look offside to me when the ball was played. Robertson as long as he puts it in everytime over Wood. But keep them on their toes, nobody should be guaranteed a place. If they are all fit see whose left out. Not seen a better winger than Lamy 2nd H against Donny last tues.
Owd Gwru watches a couple of minutes of highlights on the tv and manages to get a dig in at our skipper. Nice one. Yesterday was all about getting three points and not playing well at all. Gone was the high pressing game we played against Coventry and in the first half in particular we were well second best. Only some great goalkeeping and a fair slice of luck kept us in the game. Olosunde and Robertson were taken to the cleaners and didn't seem able to stop the wide men getting the ball into dangerous areas. Our midfield couldn't get their foot on the ball and Hastie and Wiles were never in it.
We managed to get an early second half goal and that seemed to stop them for a while. Crooks went off injured(only fair at best this week) . Ogbene huffed and puffed, Clarke gave extra energy but we weren't creating much at all. Robertson took his goal well and i agree with Gwru that if he is picked it has to be in central defence. I would have doubts about Clarke playing full back away from home and it showed we needed a steady head to see things out when Jones came on for Olosunde who had been given a torrid time by a good winger all match. We need to get Mattock fit and back on it as he is the best choice by a mile.
Three points against another team who were in the top four at start of play reads well, but lady luck was on our side and also was an excellent goalkeeping display. It reminded me a bit of how Lincoln beat us at home. Never really in it but nicking the points. Still worried about our midfield and creativity but we have options. Ogbene , Lamy, Clarke ,Vassell and Ladapo have still to show us what they are made of. The in form team of the division next up. They are averaging over two goals a game so i don't expect them to come and frustrate. This time next week should give us a better idea if we have the players to take us close to the top.
We battled well and had to dig in at times. Their giant striker was hard to handle first half but we were better team after thr break. Its building nicely.
Strange how things work out. whiston01/myself disappointed Hinds didn't play last tues. Mattock gets injured in the warm up at Blackpool, Robertson who wouldn't have started plays instead & proves to be the match winner. Clarke not the tallest which would be a disadvantage at left back. Would have liked to have seen Hinds in the tues game to see if he's ready to bring in if needed. Sooner have a natural left sided player at left back. Other alternative is to play Jones there.
People come on this site and pick there perfect 11 football today is a squad game. If we are to do well we need bodies to put on in the last third of the game. Having said that my 1st player who goes straight into the side is Richard Wood. My brain cell has just woken up this morning I am promoting him to be our next manager when this presents manager goes. You have to admit it I am a genius.

Let's not get too serious. Havin a laugh Wood a manager! Should only be last resort in the side. Got to be his last season here. Pick side on merit. Lamy right winger got to be if you do. Can Clarke play in midfield? Reading what they are saying on twitter. Say Clarke he can battle. Also I agree get Kayode back in January. Apart from Smith can't see much goal threat from us.
You are great at talking the talk. Richard Wood has been walking the walk for many years. Pick the team on merit? Yet you constantly champion yours chosen one on age, not merit. Any 19 year old has to be better than Richard Wood because he's 19 and not 34. That's how your mind works, isn't it? Richard Wood has been a rock this season, although of course your tainted preconceptions will not allow you to admit that you are wrong. I learned so much at the beginning of my football career from two senior pros at the end of their careers, Pat Nevin and John Aldridge. Both had more knowledge in their little finger nail than you will ever possess if you live to be 100. Then again, how would you have a clue about professional football. You don't.
Thinking about it, you aren't good at talking the talk with your incomprehensible command of the English language.
I like a difference of opinions. I don't see no future in keeping Wood. Evans didn't but he had Arnie & Morgan at the time. Lamy excites me. A winger at last who can cross a ball.
You don't understand conracts do you. In your high flying job as a steelworker you were on a one month rolling contract, in which you had the protection of employment law, and a regulated disciplinary system, after you had been there for two years. Richard Wood is on a fixed term contract, which I assume expires at the end of the season. No amount of foot-stamping from armchair experts such as yourself can change it.
I know Wood is under contract while the end of this current season. He can do a job in this league. He's come back into the side wouldn't say he's an automatic choice.
It's only my opinion. My opinion doesn't matter in the slightest. Leave final decision to who gets paid to make it. Doesn't say you have to agree with it.
