He has either been effectively fired or something has been said or done to make him leave. A relatively small club in a big league. He had to sell some of the better players who got them promoted and has had to start again in the Championship with young squad featuring some new faces. A quarter of the way into the season they are three points from safety and he is gone. Absolute madness.
Millwall and Barnsley managers gone explain to me how Warney kept his job last season I know football works in a strange way being a results business my one brain cell which works on a Tuesday and Thursday is struggling to work it out. Stubbs was at the Bolton match last night they said he is scouting for someone somebody is looking after the waifs and strays.

This IS absolute madness Smiler. I have never been able to understand this phenomena, which appears to be prevalent in the lower leagues and for which our club is also guilty.
Anyone with an ounce of understanding must see that going into a tough place like the Championship you are going to need the team spirit and the players that got you there in order to at least compete. Busting up a winning squad and rebuilding with all the attendant ifs and buts as to whether the new players will gel is a big ask for small outfits. You don't want to be starting from scratch in the Championship.
I do understand good players may wish to move on and no one should stop anyone from advancing a career; I also get it that small clubs may need to cash in on any player assets, but I would say that this option should be the last to consider. Managers have to to be given time to get established

Just shut up & if you can't put another record on.

I think you are dead right Calypso. It is very, very difficult for managers to build teams at clubs like Rotherham and Barnsley. Better players will move on whenever they are offered more money. We went down and it was inevitable that we were going to lose at least a couple of our players who had attracted attention in our efforts to stay up. Barnsley went up and still lost key players to clubs like Wigan and Brentford who aren't exactly huge clubs in Championship terms but Barnsley couldn't match them. Very few players these days will sign deals of more than two years in duration and even then there are often options and release clauses built in. Barnsley have dragged in many millions from player sales over the years and apparently have mega billionaire owners (for what that is worth given FFP rules) but they are still struggling to establish themselves as a Championship club and they are having their third stab at it in recent years. That puts the challenge facing us into a bit of perspective. I don't know what the answer is. I doubt that binning the manager off a few games in is the answer though.

Strange I've got a good memory I'm sure Brad said after last seasons summer transfer window in the championship we'd blown the season then. Not his exact words but what he meant. Warney kept his job cause he makes do doesn't put undue demands on Tony Stewart who will not take the club into debt we understand that. Rotherham public don't back the club so just except we're hoping to be a higher league 1 side with the occasional not lasting long visit to the championship. I still get something out of it. We get some players worth watching. Will continue to back the club. I'm from Rotherham so I don't want to be anywhere else.
I will put you another record on with my football brain with how I can predict things I can see for miles by the who. Just off to see us play Donny one for the true fans.
