It will not surprise anyone on this site I am going against Donny not concerned about the result try a few of the younger players out I might change my name to home game miller.
So warne is bold in his team selection and we do well, when he bottles it in terms of team selection and subs we dont do well mmmmm so all the people that criticise him for not being bold on more occasions are right then. Also it is the players you select not just the formation that can make a 451 be attacking or defensive , clearly playing hastie and wiles to support smith from wide positions is a more attacking lineup. Yes so credit to warne for being bold, keep it up
When we win it is because the manager listened to us. When we lose it is because the manager didn't do what we would have done (all eight thousand of us have our own ideas and we all think we are right). Simple. You know as well as I do if we had lost yesterday with that line up Warne would have been slaughtered by many for playing one up front and picking Smith and Wood. In fact there were plenty of mutterings when the team was announced that he had lost the plot and wouldn't last another week. As it is Warne gets a pat on the back for listening to his critics and he is safe. At least until 5pm next Saturday. That's just how it seems to be.
Coventry were shocking in defence, no better in attack. Think it would have been hard for Warney to get it wrong yesterday. According to someone on MM Robertson he's got a thigh strain, not seen it confirmed. Wood did ok Icky carried him abit. Apart from Barlaser couldn't fault rest of the side. 4-5-1 stay with it.

One thing we do seem to agree on Derby is that playing a lone striker is not necessarily a negative formation. Crooks looked more comfortable in the more advanced areas and we definitely moved the ball more quickly and were less predictable. Wiles and Hastie were always a threat. The two stand-out players for me though were Lindsay who is getting better week by week doing a lot of hard graft and Ihiekwe who has become a very reliable defender.
I think the scoreline flattered us a bit yesterday (although we certainly deserved the win) and I think in other games we haven't been as bad as some have suggested. Coventry yesterday had more far more efforts on goal than Lincoln did, for example., and we had about the same as we did against Lincoln. The difference was that Lincoln didn't self-destruct, Lincoln's goalkeeper made a couple of blinding saves and Lincoln took the only two chances they had on the day (one in fact an own goal from us). But the result totally informs the fans' reactions.
We have a side that is quite young as well as much changed. There is some good quality in there. We will lose and draw games and we shouldn't jump on them too readily if and when that happens. Equally we shouldn't get too giddy when things go our way and we win. Keep getting behind then and lets see where it goes. My hope and suspicion is that we will win a fair few more than we lose, but we shall see.
Considering that Coventry are shocking in defence and attack, they were the only unbeaten team in the division until yesterday, but don't let that stop you constantly recycling the same old tripe gru
Even though I didn't get the winner pleased Enable didn't win it for the 3rd time. Not a Shergar or Dancing Brave. You don't have to be a prolific winner, just win in style at the highest level even it's only for one season on the flat. Chepstow next Saturday NH kicks into gear. Enjoyment for 6 months.
For the last few games every time we attack we kill the pace....why? because Ladapo & Morris bring absolutely nothing to the table, they aren't particularly good at anything but losing possession. We kept the pace in attack and we didn't half look threatening. While smudge is pretty woeful at finishing we all can say what he is good at and our first goal was all about what he is good at. The other 3 goals...c'mon they're laughable. Robins needs to remember these are L1 players not Man City.
Not getting carried away at all with this one, Crooks Macdonald and Barlaser are still totally average, if Wiles & Lindsay get injured we might as well join a walking football league. Olosunde is Championship material already - he's wasted at full back - should be an attacking midfielder.
A couple of questions that have been bothering me Exeter. You claim to be in Exeter, and the address on your PC Poorly site shows a semi in Exeter. Do you do the 400 mile round trip for every home game?
The second question, your "handle" states that you are a whatever level qualified coach. Did you play football to any decent level, or do you obtain coaching qualifications by filling numbers into a spreadsheet in the 21st century. Did you ever get your knees mucky on Herringthorpe playing fields?
Warney had to go back to 4-5-1 else he might have been saying bye. It wouldn't have been by choice. Keep with it. Smith he's the only striker we have good enough. Ladapo Morris Vassell I'd move on. Can send Morris Barlaser back in January. Get a right winger fit we'll win more than we lose. Lindsay will have to be the steel in midfield while January. Going tonight hope to see Lamy.
Wow you really have the ability to make quick decisions on players. I wish i had the same ability.
I still believe we played 4.4.1.1 on Saturday with the four across the middle being Wiles right, Lindsay and Barlaser central and Hastie on the left. We then had Crooks just behind Smith who was playing as a central striker. These two worked tirelessly to close down the Coventry defenders and put them under pressure where they made defensive mistakes resulting in two penalties and a goal.
Are you sure you are not being harsh on Ladapo ? Last season he scored eighteen in a relegated team. No mean feat in any division. It's a very quick decision to unload our record signing in less than ten games for us. Morris has a fair bit to offer in my opinion. Big,strong, decent in the air and a good link up player. One thing he does lack is scoring goals. Vassell has never been given a chance in his favoured central striking role and again isn't a massive goal scorer, but i think he is somebody who could come on and give us another option with his pace and power down the middle. I believe Gwru, it's more about having a squad that can give you options both in attack, midfield and defence. I also believe that if we can get our squad fit, we have something to have a good go at in this league. Let's not talk about moving people on when we have hardly seen them play in their favoured roles. Warne and Barker will be looking to develop the careers of people like Barlaser, Morris, Wiles, Olosunde,Lindsay,Ogbene,Lamy, Morris, Ladapo and all the other young players we have. I also believe they are in very good hands to develop them. Stick by them please.
You are of course exactly right Whiston but you are wasting your time I'm afraid. If Lamy gets ten minutes tonight as a sub in what is essentially somewhere between a friendly and a reserve game, you can expect gwru to be on here before the stroke of midnight telling us whether we have a hit or a miss on our hands. He will say it as he sees it and ten minutes is enough for him. We don't need a scout - just get Breck to look at the players gwru sees on the telly. And don't forget he is more right than wrong. Good luck.
whiston01 smiler through my work in the bookies you haven't got long to make decisions so do. When I 1st saw McDonald was same with Potter Jones knew they were past their sell by date. Done nothing to change my mind. Wood should have gone by now if we are going to progress. I gave Ladapo a chance but he hasn't got no battle at all in him. Morris Vassell don't rate at all. But Smith keeps injury free so hope he does while January then do something about it. As I've said get a right winger fit think we'll be in a good place come January & of course stay with 4-5-1.

The difference gwru is that getting new players into and building a football team is a medium to long term project. You might only have a minute or two to decide which horse to back, but you don't have the same pressure of time in the football situation.
Players sometimes do take time to settle for a number of different reasons, and they can and often do improve over time. They are human and have good games and bad games, good spells and bad spells. They have the potential to offer far more to a group of players than what you think you see on the pitch in home games and on Millers Player.
Your approach is totally illogical and fatally flawed. The most knowledgeable of football experts are rarely able put players in the 'good' or 'bad' box after one viewing, but you think you have some magical ability to do that and get it right because you used to work in a factory and like to bet on horses. You couldn't make that up, but it really is what you think.
You are very, very badly mistaken. The fact that you can't see all that is infuriating.
