As usual Gwru doesn't let the facts get in the way of a good story. J.C.H looks to have found a home where is undoubted talents are flourishing. However, which manager would have given a player another contract at our club who had played 71 times for us and only scored nine times? Very few if any. He also claims Warne wouldn't play Williams and yet picked the inferior Forde. Williams featured 39 times for us in the championship whilst Forde only featured 28 times. You do the maths Gwru. As i have stated before Williams has started two league games for Portsmouth and was subbed at half time. Not the player many believe he is in my opinion.
Gwru has picked his side for Coventry. We currently have the third best defensive record in the league. Gwru wants to take out the captain and replace him with a kid who last played a competitive game on the 17th August for Bradford P.A.. He played a competitive game for us in the first week of August against Man Utd's youngsters. Now that's how you destroy a young player and i am sure Warne and co will bring the lad on steadily and he will make a good player. His time in the first team is not yet.
I have spoke about Smith and his lack of goals, and in all honesty this season he looks like a player who has lost his touch. The much maligned 4.5.1 is an option we could try if the current 4.4.2 is falling short. It's funny how you have changed on this Gwru as i am sure you were clamouring for 4.4.2 when we started playing 4.3.3. I will plead one last time . Give the lads a chance. It's still very early in the season for the call for mass change.
whiston01 I only called for 4-4-2 cause anything is better than the dreadful 4-3-3. But we can only play 4-5-1. We need 3 in midfield two wingers preferably. Regards Hinds I thought he did ok against Man U under 21's. Mattock he's not looked the same player this season. Williams I'm talking last few months of the season he wasn't starting. Smith he's the only player we have can play on his own up front.
in regards evans it wasnt a footballing matter why he left.
groundhog day very apt perhaps like u r suggesting would help warne get it right eventually
The change should have been made last spring manger and players slapping each other on the back for being relegated.
This season is dead in the water make a change now get the right people in move on.
I still maintain this is a decent squad of players.
Injuries apart, we have already shown we can beat anyone in this league.
Home form is the issue and we don't seem to have a pattern, we don't look aggressive enough from the kick off, we don't look hungry enough..
The manager needs to find the answer and motivate them to 'go for the throat' mentality, not passy passy , slowly slowly... and I’ve already said, corners and set pieces need sorting out, including Wiles not taking them anymore...
Frustrating season, although it could be a lot worse!
Fans need to see attractive football not the dire Warne is producing.
It's a shame cos of history with the club. But if this carries on til.end of November the. Tony needs to start scouting
You are a windup merchant gwru or whoever you are. Its not a question of being a 'Warneyboy' or any other boy for that matter. It just happens that some posters on this site are a little more optimistic and supportive of the club about the situation than you and your chums are. Perhaps they feel that if they cannot say anything positive then they say nothing at all; as I am sure they all feel bitterly disappointed in the result and in the way it happened. You and some of your boys even deliberately go out of your way to find negatives when we win, thats your privilege which you exploit to the full.
TS will act when the time comes and Warne will leave. No amount of gob5hyte from you will have any influence but I dare say you will claim the credit. 'Tell me different'.
I was optimistic at the start of the season..Warne had some extra cash to buy players off set of course by obligatory wage bill reduction.
But he went for a 4 3 3 formation which I applauded. But then it became obvious the players he bought wouldn't work in that formation.
So he reverts to 4 1 4 1 playing Smith up.front on his neither of which position will suit ladapo or morris. So he will need to chose a new formation because 4 1 4 1 isn't working convincingly either Smith up.front on his OWN IS NOT WORKING he is to.isolated no matter what Warne and some.poster think about 4 5 1
We have 2 attacking full backs we have 2 wingers hastie and ogbene use them.in right positions with 2 I repeat 2 up.front
Drop crooks please so inconsistent
Wiles and Lindsey in midfield
And.play 4 4 2 or 4 1 3 2
Warne no shots on targets is a stat I never expected to see. You even clapped when we lost a ball we miscues a cross or when we kicked a ball out of play give the thumbs up to.mattock
What the ......
Most managers would be not happy but they would do the good human approach
Too many things wrong with Warne made many tactical mistakes to survive
im past caring about PW and his philosophy of non football-related matters.
The debate has got to be based on outcomes. I enjoyed the confident idea PW put out before the start of the season but it was wrong. He got the formation wrong. He underestimated opponents and he doesnt know who is best 11 are.
I wont pass judgement on the players in terms of ability but what we are seeing is a pattern of inconsistency and that is leaving us adrift of our preseason goal.
The only question for me is what target the board should set PW and by which game and if he hasnt achieved it hes replaced. There is no other way to run a football club. Its results only. One cant fiddle or pretend the ship is unsinkable when there is serious work to be done.
We ought not be afraid of sacking PW and we ought not to give him any special status. That has to stop. We applaud the good and boo the bad and all the inbetween we are more than intelligent enough to workit out.
If he can meet the target good. If he remains unable to get us consistent and look like a team who can challenge for eveygame then good.
otherwise set him a point total, and a judgment based on quality and if he hasnt met it by xmas then its time to move on. He has had more than enough time at this club and we must keep moving forward little by little and currently, we look very fragile and the damming thing is PW has never ever said publicly why. He never talks much about tactics like just about every other manager does and is reduced to "i dont know why". "if I had the answers!.
is that really what you want to hear from anyone who is supposed to be your boss or caring for you or supporting your endevours in some way.
