Told you so

I said that releasing 18 players and recruiting half that was foolish and awful planning, 17 fit senior players at the club long term injuries to 3 players, and only 1 week to fix it. Yes we have started well but it isnt even 6 games in and our small squad is suffering. We have been close to signing players now for 2 weeks. Warne was concerned the board may not back him for 3 players let us hope they do because we need them tactically and just to fill the bench.

You may well have a point Derby but I'll wait until the end of the transfer window before agreeing with you.

We had to turn over a lot of players. Football finances and the nature of the game these days dictated it. Loanees had to go back. We had a significant number who hardly played a game for us last season who had to be moved on. We had to cash in on Vaulks and Ajayi to fund a good stab at this season. Finally we had a few out of contract and those who we thought were worth keeping were made offers. They thought they could do better elsewhere and good luck to them, but if we are honest none of them were big losses. The issue isn't how many moved on, but how many came in to replace them. When you say 'I told you the squad wasnt big enough' I don't think anyone actually disagreed with you, not even Warne himself. I gave my opinion, which is that a squad of 22 senior players felt about right. I still think so, and we are short of that as of today. But the window isn't closed yet. We've had a sound enough start and will add two or three more players yet.

Smiler I am sorry you have selective memory syndrome, you have argued with me over this constantly, learn to admit it when you were wrong. By the way I think our start has been good only Lincoln game where we looked one dimensional with not plan B the post I placed saying read this has a good independent assessment of that game worth a read. I agree 2nd Sept is when we judge, however I do feel we have been lucky with injuries, because we still have time to strengthen if we had them early september we wouldnt have built a bigger squad. Lastly over the summer warne stated he only wanted a squad of 20 seems he has changed his mind, which is good, but a squad of 20 is stupid in the modern game. UTM I hope we turn up on Wednesday night and give us all that great feeling that cup games can give.

If you look Derby you'll see that I said that I thought we needed up to 21 senior players plus the young pros. Warne has consistently said we need two or three more in. After we signed Clarke I said I would share your disappointment if we didnt sign a couple more which we haven't yet. If we dont sign a couple in the next week I will think we are a bit light and will be disappointed. I also agreed with someone who correctly pointed out that the number of injuries we have had to full backs is freakish, which it is. It's all there to see. I dont think anyone disagreed much at all with your conclusion that we need more signings. The difference between us is that you seem very anxious to throw blame around a bit early. As Glenn has pointed out, even your 'told you so' post is a bit premature. I'm not sure what you think you told us that has since come true (because there still time) and I'm certainly not sure why you seem to have such a big axe to grind.

Releasing JCH for nothing was criminal. Warney he's given a player not with his potential Proctor time to get his fitness back. Probably cause in Warneys eyes Proctor passes the good human being test! Jonno 3 goals this season, like gold strkers who score goals. Taylor he's scored for Donny today. I always said Taylor was the best finisher out of all last seasons wingers but he's not a player who can run at defences. But Donny haven't got a dud there. Lincoin didn't get it as easy there as Warney made it for them at the New York. Sure Warney thinks we just turn up play 3 up front it's going to work. It won't in the long run. Get some width. Hope there's some movement this week getting a CB & wide men in, it's needed. Can't see us playing 4-3-3 against a championship side. Apparently Hinds he's back. He wasn't the worst player against Man U under 21's. If Mattock is still injured play him. Need Robertson's pace at CB.

Bringing back some old hobby horses gwru to give you something to be negative and critical about even when we haven't had a game. I dont know about anybody else but you sap the life out of me with your relentless, repetitive posts.

You're impossible to have a sensible virtual discussion/debate with gwru. Most people on here use the site to advance an opinion and see what others think. For you it's one way street - a platform to hammer away with the same stuff. If you were a bloke in a local pub I'd politely make my excuses and walk away. I cant get away from you on here unless I decide not to use the site, and I want to keep using it. The answer I think is that from this point on I shan't be reading your posts and so won't be responding to any of them. It wont matter to you. You'll plough on regardless. So we're all good.

smiler it's not a popularity contest. I don't worry what people think. Hope on here we get more people open minded. I don't run with the pack.

gwru is right people have different opinions the world would be a very boring place if we did. If you are throwing your toys out of the pram because some one disagrees with you. That is what happens on these sites if everyone was nodding with each other boring.

Not unexpectedly THMiller, you have completely missed the point. Having different opinions is good. Disagreeing with me is great. All fine with that. What I'm not fine with is someone who repeats the same points again and again and again regardless of the fact that he often contradicts even himself. Never has someone who is demonstrably wrong so often been so absolutely convinced that he is always right. How do you handle someone like that on a site like this? If I was the moderator I could have a word and try and effect a change. But I'm not so my options are limited. I'm happy with the one I've chosen. It wont affect gwru one iota. Nothing that other people say or think registers with or has any effect on him whatsoever. That is the nature of the beast.

in regards harris it wasnt just warne who didnt pick him . harris was a legend in his own mind. yes he is scoring goals. we paid his wages when he was out for a season like proctor was. did he tear the turf up when back no sulked as he is a legend in his own mind. sp please gwru no more harris references. this site is about opinions and friendly banter, but constant repeated opinons become tedious and boring. spats between posters turn prospective new posters off. please lets not get into the mind set of mm. gwru you was univited from that site please for whatever reasons. . but like clint eastwood says opinions are like ******** everyone has one. please keep your clenched lol

Answer me a question most of you in the Warney corner. Why did all these players leave? Don't get me wrong glad they did can take Jones Wood McDonald ect... with them. Could it be a dressing room of good human beings reading speeches to each other if you work differently would be abit too much to take. Regards JCH I talk to someone at the club said he was popular. Reckon Derbyshire was a practical joker who played one of the best on him but he took it well. I like players with attitude. JCH had ability to go with it. We haven't got nobody better since a actual signing. But he's gone so I agree pointless talking about him. Hope Warney wises up or we'll just drift.
