Derby 3-5-2 is a specialist formation. We can't play that. 4-4-2 then make strikers fight for 2 places. If we sign 2 wide men get shut of Proctor if he wants to play cause there won't be 5 strikers in a match day squad of 18. Mattock was one of our best players last season. You are telling me you'd sooner have Wood playing then I do know you've lost it.
TC I've been watching Roth U for over 50 years. I know what works & what doesn't. Football is a simple game. Keep it simple. 4-4-2 when we get our wide men especially on the left is the way to go in league 1.
Gwru mattock is not the answer at LB he is out of position too much, he had one decent season and he has refused a new contract. If we get another CB in when the irish lad is fit then 352 gives us width and allows us to play two forwards, make the strikers fight for the two places.

Put the cat amongst my pigeons with the strikers. Im desperate for PW to make the 3 work. I want them all to succeed and I think they can. Appreciate that its easy to envision the wide man bringing the team up the park and smith and Ladapo holding and feeding off those attacks (or perm your preferred 2 from 3), but , maybe what is going to make us a force to be reckoned with is if we can make the 3 work. Otherwise i slightly worry we will have conventional players in a conventional lower league division playing other like-minded teams and it will be predictable and somewhat boring.
