Barlaser and Crooks need to learn to keep the ball better, there are other players I could mention but those 2 are centre midfield and need to learn when to start an attack or hold play to allow for movement in front. Too many times we won the ball in our back third and we were too eager to release it forward. It was a good game chances either end but I think we had the better quality of them. How on earth they weren't awrded a penalty is utterly beyond me. Only person in the ground and watching on ifollow who thought it wasn't was the referee. If that was us - this board would be on fire. The lead up to the goal from us was top end L1 / Champ quality. By the way it is an OG - the ball is going away from goal after it hit the post before it hit the keeper and went in.
I'm pleased when it comes to a scrap we seem to be able to find ways to win. I'm getting more concerned that the possession football we played at Wimbledon looks more and more like a one off. 3 wins out of 4 though and I think there's a lot more to come from us.
So....two away wins, five goals, two clean sheets and a Richard Wood goal and you are still chucking all your toys out of the cot. Head of recruitment. Easy job. LOL. You live in your own bubble gwru.
It's going to be a long season with Warney & Woody. If Warney thinks Woody is the answer we are up the creek. We might get in the top 6 but I for one won't enjoy it. I paid my ST to watch athletes not were some sort of athlete. No bother NH horseracing moves up a gear in less than two months. Snooker as well will keep me focussed.

To be honest GWRU , if we finish top 6 I won't care who he plays, I do actually think though we will get better as the season goes on, hopefully anyway.

UTM.
Like your positivity. Just I can't get excited at the moment. Don't know if I'll get it back under Warney but I will always back the club.
Just for the record and to balance up the impression given by the media coverage driven by the bleating about their penalty appeal, Vassell did hit the bar, blazed a great chance over and failed by a whisker to get on the end of a teasing cross near the end, Proctor was ragged about all over for what looked to me to be a nailed on penalty, Smith missed a one on one with the keeper just before half time and Robertson had a goalbound header headed off the line. I'm not saying that we murdered Burton because we didn't, but it was not a smash and grab win. It was a pretty even contest, but on balance we were the better, more threatening side.
Even from the brief highlights it's plain to see that Rotherham had good chances Smiler. It's interesting how the press have labelled it a lucky victory - particularly calling our goal unfortunate for the keeper. They give no credit to Wiles for a great shot which the keeper managed to get a stud to. However, I'm not complaining. I'd far rather come away with 3 points with the press thinking we were lucky, than one point which the press consider a fair result.
Vassell hit the bar but not intentional. He's more hit & hope. As I've said I've watched the extended highlights even the most biast fan would say a win but not convincing at all. It was a pen' all day against Wood.
I don't think anybody is saying it was convincing Gwru. It was a dour first division game with not much quality from either side. As Smiler said we did have our moments as did Burton. The one where Smiler says Vassell missed by a whisker was from a great ball in by Lindsay who had an impact when he came on, which was another positive.
I get the feeling that some on here believe we should be steam rolling sides. We will get the odd game where that happens but surely we know all about this division and its a combination of graft, organisation, team spirit, pressing ,picking up second ball and a fair slice of luck plus a load of other things as well. Warnes teams will not lack for many of those. Please show a bit of patience and get behind us instead of looking for ways to criticise. If you had been to Burton on Saturday you wouldn't be saying what you are about Wood. Of course he has some limitations but he also has attributes, and at times that will get us over the line like it did Saturday.

So, no positives at all. Just luck, hit and hope, biast (!!) ref and anything else that you can think of to put a negative spin on a much deserved away victory. You're like a kid in the playground who sulks because no-one wants to play his game.
Can't be doing with such negativity, so I'll ignore your future posts. Please feel free to reciprocate.
It's my ball I'm taking it home! There's positives. New keeper, right back. Hope Lindsay gets a run the side cause apart from Wiles I haven't seen much in midfield. You won't get best out of Smith & Lapado playing formation we are playing now. Get Mattock back at left back with Robertson at centre back we'll be cooking with gas!
Gwru mattock is not the answer at LB he is out of position too much, he had one decent season and he has refused a new contract. If we get another CB in when the irish lad is fit then 352 gives us width and allows us to play two forwards, make the strikers fight for the two places.
