Explain to me in very simple words why after last Saturday's abysmal perfoŕmance the present manger is still in his job. Not expecting nothing against Burton. Huddersfield have just sacked there manaģer. Very despondent Miller.
Here's some simple words for you. 'Not expecting nothing' is a double negative and , as everyone knows, two negatives make a positive. So what you have actually said is that you expect a positive result at Burton - in which case I can't understand your despondency?
As to your question about our manager, I'll leave that to someone who has the patience to answer it.
Not worth the effort Glenn. If we lose today I'm not looking at this site for minimum three days. The pridictable (I've had to override auto-predict to get that through) wave of Warne Out posts will be too much to handle. Angry people who know next to nothing about the game are influencing decisions that impact on other peoples' livelihoods because social media has given them a voice. In the good old days you used to get the odd nutty letter in the Tiser. Now it's a daily stream of garbage.
Warney he's still got his job cause he's cheap, toes the TS line. My only problem with him is he's had a week to put right what was wrong last Saturday & done nothing about it. So if the worst happens today whose to blame?
And if you mean sign players, as you know it has been well do***ented that we have spent a lot of the week trying. It isn't as easy as watching DVD's and sending John Breckin out to sort it.
Yeah but that doesn't count. It was in the cup and, as he keeps telling everyone, cup matches don't count. Plus he ran his expert eye over 80 seconds of highlights and decided that the Millers were only slightly better than Shrewsbury, who were pathetic. Anything to fit his agenda.
Correct TC. It is strange how an agenda can influence an opinion. Lose today and it will be because Warne is awful and not following gwru's advice. Win and it will be because Burton are poor and it won't alter anything. Too predictable and quite sad.
When Saturday comes I am just asking a question still no answer might be a bit wiser after 5pm today. Football is a results business I think the last time we won at home was April against Forrest. Not good enough the dross we have had to put up with in the last 12 months or so. Ì was hopèing to see a spark at the start of this season still waiting.
The Huddersfield manager had won one game in the last seven months. Paul Warne has won one game in the last five days. Seven months is a longer period of time than five days
Unfortunately TH, the dross that you have had to put up with over the past 12 months pales into insignificance when compared to some of the intellectually challenged drivel that some of us have to put up with on this site!
To answer your question, Paul Warne is still in a job because the Chairman thinks he is the right man for the job. As a supporter I do not have access to the running of the club and the constraints the manger is under, therefore I get my information from what I see and from reputable media sources.
To call last season dross is particularly insulting when you take into account the quality of the teams we were playing. In my opinion we were only outplayed in three games WBA, Brentford and Swansea the fact we could and in some cases should have won. I do not go to away games so therefore I cannot comment. The teams in the Championship had bigger squads, better players and even better players on loan from bigger clubs. Against Stoke they have 50 million pounds worth of talent on the bench. To be in with a chance of staying up was an achievement
Paul Warne has integrity, the desire to portray Rotherham in the right manner and he produces teams that can compete at the level needed. The performance against Lincoln was poor and needs to be addressing but to suggest he should be sacked is a ridiculous proposal. I sit near the opposition dug out and watch and listen to the antics of their manager and at times I am appalled at the behaviour. The Lincoln manager is an ex teacher believe me he is no loss to that profession.
If h a supporter the desire is succeed at all costs perhaps Rotherham is the wrong club for you.
I'm reality challenged by Warney & his many followers on here. TH is right it's a results business. He's had more money come in this summer from sales than any manager I can remember but half of his signings don't add anything to the side. Tell me different. Why didn't he play Lindsay tues cause our midfield last Saturday was woeful. I can't understand Warney's ideas it not worked out. Just go with his favorites like he did last season with Forde & Taylor. That will be one of reasons why Williams will have gone.
To answer you questions. Why did Jamie Lindsay not play? Don’t know but I assume it was in the best interests of the team and the player.
Does Paul Warne have favourites? Don’ know But I would be surprised if he did. He may have players he trusts more to play to the plan.
Do I believe that Paul Warne is faultless? Of cause I do not. All managers have their faults and cannot please all the people all of the time but you have to believe what they are doing is in the best interests of the club.
I had the privilege to play for two different managers. The first one came to the club having had continental experience and treated the players like adults. He would speak to players about the good points of their game before going on to the bad points. His desire was to be constructive and help the individual.
he was followed by an arrogant, foul mouthed Scotsman who only pointed out your bad points. We went from playing good football to if it moved kick it. He managed to make one of the best young footballers I have seen into a clogger who went on to spend his career in the lower divisions instead of playing for England.
Because at this time he is the right man for the job. He has built his own squad and is hoping to add more he has been backed by the owners and it is all about his ability as a manager now....he lives or dies by the results. I wish him all the success we all want to see for this club. I have stated my concerns about the club and team management, I still have those concerns but time will tell, for now we need to support the team on match days. I live 10 mins from burtons ground but cant go as in Spain at the moment, gutted to be honest. UTM
Where are we in the marketplace? - Top / Middle of L1. A shiny ground we rent and don't own doesn't change that. Get to the lower reaches of L1 and god forbid L2 that is when clearly players and staff are not perfming to the level we should be at.
Soon as RUFC are pulling 15k a week at an extended NYS, vastly improved training facility (where a player spends 90% of his job), and we are signing players on 5 figures a week - maybe we can rethink.
You can't be the cheap option if you have no money anyway, and don't even mention the word 'invest' - as that implies a future profitable return.
TH MILLER you need to get out of the Championship thinking and get a dose of reality. I spent 20 years dreaming of seeing RUFC in the Champ / Div 1 / Div2 - i.e. the 2nd tier. Other than our 2nd season under RM up to Xmas - it has been an absolute complete struggle on and off the pitch.
Warney has made us competitive with the constraints he works under. He's the most qualified and intelligent manager we've had, has RUFC in his veins and after having our name blackened yes blackened taking on Steve Evans, Warney has got us likeable again within the football world with whom we need to be making deals with. The media view us better and so do fans of other clubs from the outside looking in. Yes Warney has his flaws, and he will the the first to hold his hand up when a choice / decision doesn't work. But he's not an idiot and you know when you've travelled long and at expense the team are going to give everything they have rather than have their bellies tickled.
Iwasatvillapark when we beat villa 1-0 cross from Jim Storrie and Steve Downs scored Tommy Doc manager in the FA cup in the 4th round. I don't care who the manager is not there to be liked I am not happy being beaten nearly all of the time we need to get back to the winning habit just can't see it at the moment.
