It was frustrating today. Lincoln set out to frustrate us with their time wasting and putting everyone behind the ball from minute one. The ref was frustrating because he allowed them to get away with it. Booking someone for time wasting with five minutes left is a waste of time when they've been doing it from the kick off. The conditions were frustrating. We defended abysmally for their two goals. They really created nothing but won two nil. Well done Lincoln. We huffed and puffed a bit but couldn't break them down and when we did we couldn't finish it off. They had 3 attempts at goal, we had seventeen, they won. Very frustrating. Most frustrating of all though are our so called supporters. Are we the worst bunch in the league? I get that we weren't good today (before anybody thinks I think otherwise) , but for christs sake we have played two, won one and lost one. It isn't the end of the world, is it? We aren't entitled to win every week.
We aren't going to play well every week and we arent going to win every game. That's football. But this board is already full of people who say nothing when we win and can't wait to pile in when we lose. I do think the negativity from the crowd today had a knock on effect. You could see the confidence drain out of players who are good footballers. The ground started emptying with ten minutes plus added time to go. After two games we've got three points and a few want the manager out. Honestly, its pathetic and a bit embarrassing.
smiler why start a new thread? If you disagree with what's being said just tell them why. I agree with you on one thing all of a sudden Gaz he's turned when we lose one game, why? I went with 3 mins to go, a lot more beat me to it. I've said from the WBA friendly 4-3-3 won't work. Obvious today. Players another thing I said from 1st seeing him Macdonald might have been half decent at one time but not now. How do we keep falling for bringing players in who haven't played for the two previous seasons. How do you fund getting two wide men in offload Vassell & Proctor. We only played with 1 striker most of last season, 3 will be enough while January.
It's as sad as it is predictable Smiler. Anyone who forms any serious opinions about players, formations, managers, tactics etc after a day in which even the best footballers would have had difficulty managing the conditions, needs to take a long hard look at themselves. Particularly the one who only ever has anything to say on this site after we've lost!
Today wasn't good. But it has been said for many weeks now that this is virtually a new side and they will need time to gel. If, after 10 games, the team aren't doing the business, then questions over the tactics and individual players would be reasonable. However, we've played 2 and won 1 - it's not exactly time to panic and to throw away all the pre-season work.
The key concern for me today was the lack of decent supply from the midfield to the front 3. That will come when an understanding develops between the players. I thought our back four were really good considering the conditions. They timed almost every header despite the ball moving around wildly in the wind. They were not at fault for either of the goals - they were both the result of poor marking by the whole team at two set pieces.
We need to remain calm and give the manager and the team the space and support they need to build a unit which will, I'm confident, become a strong force in this league. However, for those whose agenda is to undermine the club at every opportunity, I'm sure your patience ran out well before the season even started.
I will for ten games, it is 3 not 2 by the way
Being critical and stating opinions doesnt make you a bad supporter. I stayed to the end i clapped our players i cheered and i sang. But i am getting fed up with this blind faith in a man that is such a lovely man and loves the club but he is no football coach and never will be, all i want is for the owner to lead his business sack RB who is completely incapable as a coach, sit warne down and explain he needs some help. I still think warne will get the blame before xmas on 8th dec 2017 he was 5 mins from the sack history will repeat itself. Paul needs help and you lot finding one excuse after another for him is not helping him. He is a fitness guru that team was run off the park by hard working fit Lincoln players, even o'connor was fitter. Good points the keeper can catch, the right back has pace and freddie has a lovely touch, oh and the burgers at popeyes are still £2.50
I worked today's result out after we lost to Man U kids. I think our present manager has run his course managers at every club in div 1 and think easy 3 points today. As I have said lost a lot of fans today they will take some bringing back. I will predict we will not get in the top 6 heads will roll before Xmas.
I'm bitterly disappointed that we lost. It is really frustrating because we are better than Lincoln. We weren't outplayed, outrun or outfought. We were clearly the better side in the first half. They didnt even get in our box until the 42nd minute or whatever it was, and we switched off and got done by a sucker punch. On another day we score three or four today and they never looked like creating anything in open play.
I'll stand £50 to Bluebell Wood with anyone who wants it that we will finish above them this season. Things went against us today but it might do us good in the long run. I started a new thread gwru because the main point of it was the supporters and how poor we are as a group. I saw us win quite a few away games season before last and never saw a ground empty as early as ours did today. The crowd got on the teams back quickly. It's on a difficult day like today when support is needed, but instead the team was booed off by many of those who were still there at the final whistle and after one win and one defeat (the man utd game was utterly meaningless) in two league games there are calls for the manager to go. I joked a couple of weeks ago that it would only take one defeat for the supporters to turn on Warne but I really didnt think it would happen. Its crap. I couldnt gove a toss about Shrewsbury away in the whatever it's called cup and I'll be at Burton next Saturday for what will be another tough game.
Last time in this League - 2017/18 - first seven games; one league win, one League Cup win, three League defeats, one League Cup defeat and one FL Trophy defeat. Now remind me, how did that season finish? Patience is a virtue!
I must live on a different planet we were the better team. We were out manageď out played fitter players the Germany jaunt went well. What a pathetic home start to the season.
Smiler and glenmiller are pw and rb alias names you live in a fantasy world and you are the embarrassing millers supporters. We were awful.today it was long boot not a footballer worth watching on the pitch in a red shirt, take your head out of your arses
Derbymiller - I'm not sure how old you are but if you've watched the Millers for any length of time, I'm surprised you've survived this long. The vitriol you direct towards the management, players and your fellow supporters who disagree with your viewpoint is verging on psychotic. Calm down son and take a chill-pill - it's only a game!
