Bad news sausage rolls have gone up! Match do I not like 3 up front no width. Still haven't got a Right back. Olsunde couldn't tackle or get forward. Wiles was easily our best midfield player. Crooks same as last season too slow. Iverson looked good, two outstanding saves. Ladapo always in the game. Ihiewke & Robertson both solid. Could do with a player like Ajayi who could cover Centre back & holding midfield. Were was Macdonald tonight? Hope two who can play wide midfield are on there way.

Thought the full back did ok but he needs game time. Decent performance for a friendly good to see Proctor getting back to his full fitness. As I have said it will take at least 2 months for this squad to gel.

Warney said Jones & Macdonald were injured. Where's the cover for holding midfield. Get another centre back then Ihiewke can play Right back. Need some width in the side.

Not like you gwru to write a new player off after one friendly game against higher division opposition. If I knew how to do a shaking head emoji I would. Sticking to the new players, I thought Iverson looked very sound. As for the outfield players, the three who started all represent an improvement on last season. Olosunde was very good, has pace and will be a threat going forwards. Barlaser looked very composed and has a good range of passing that we desperately missed last season. Ladapo is quick and very lively. Generally, if we play that system with those players the upside is that with our strong, mobile forwards we will create and score lots of goals. We did still get wide and looked dangerous. The downside is that defensively teams that are good enough to move the ball quickly might get wide overlaps and get at our fullbacks. A few times we were stretched defensively. That needs work. MacDonald who missed the game with a dead leg is a quality addition. Morris needs more minutes but is a good option and did well in this division with Shrewsbury. I'm very positive about our prospects. We can and will add further and if any leave they will also be replaced. That isn't speculation, it is what has been said. Lots to be positive about.

smiler I would never sign players who have no experience of 1st team football in whatever level of the EFL or competitive league football. Olsunde it's like starting from basics. He can't tackle at all, going forward he's no idea. Hope he's a quick learner. Iverson rated. Ladapo same. Barlaser not in the game much, definitely can't take corners. Morris is no better than Vassell. Warney to me he can't do the hard side of management. Not playing certain players. Playing 3 up front will never work. Sacrificing that for having no width is crazy. Wiles he's our next Frecks. 2nd H he got past his full back on the right better than Forde & Taylor did in 3 seasons to get a good cross in. I'd play Wiles right side of midfield getting down the wing when he can. Crooks is the same as when I 1st saw him, it looks laboured to him with his lack of pace. 3 signings will make all the difference. With them think we'll be up there.

Its astonishing to me that you have written Olosunde off after one game and are suggesting playing a centre half there instead. Amazing. Wiles I really rate but he struggled to have much impact on yesterday's game. But then he is one of your favourites. I suspect the majority of supporters would see the qualities that Barlaser has. Did you not see his cross-field pass off his left foot to the right wing in the first half? Crooks is one of the quickest players at the club by way, as a matter of fact. But don't let the facts get in the way.

The thing about Warne not having the balls to not play certain players is really tiresome. This is a manager who has not shied away from making tough decisions. He likes good players who fit into the team ethic. What is the problem with that?

smiler it's no point trying to change my mind. Wiles he's our next big money transfer out of here, hope not for this season at least. He's got it. I do change my mind sometimes Ihiewke I'd written him off but now he's one our key defenders, he's quick enough to cover Right back. Crooks would say he's one of the slowest at the club. I do think Warney lacks the balls sometimes not to play certain players. Heard him on freeview after last nights game saying to play wingers will have to drop one of the front three. That's going to have to happen, that will never work playing three up front. Mattock will be worn out covering all of the left hand side.

Like I said, I rate Wiles. I know you have strong opinions but maybe give players a fair crack of the whip and maybe more than a game or two before you bin them off. Most I spoke to thought Olosunde looked good in any case although he did tire a bit but let's wait and see. Give the kid a chance. They test and analyse players in training, and he might not look it because his style is a bit languid but Crooks is one of the quickest over ten yards. That's not an opinion, it's a fact.

I think I must live in a 180 degree opposite universe to gwru. Olosunde has outstanding potential. He performed very well last night, getting forward effectively, not diving in against a very talented WBA winger and full back. He and Mattock are going to create the supply for our 3 forwards throughout this season and lots of goals will result. Barlaser is superb. He controlled the game from in front of our back four. His vision, passing and crossing are far superior to anything that we had in midfield last season. Crooks would be your worst nightmare as an opposition player. He is all over them like a rash. He has massive potential. My only concern with the team last night was the impact that Morris can make. All the other forwards showed mobility, cunning and a desire to get an attempt in on goal. Morris seems a bit one-paced at the moment - but he may come good.

Having seen these players at Chesterfield and last night, I'm very excited about the potential for this coming season and I think we're going to be in for some really entertaining football. Warne has been masterful in this transfer window so far, with the potential of more to come. He is everything that our club needs in a manager.

You've saved my sanity Glenn.  Thank you!

I think Morris showed some good touches but perhaps looked a game or two behind the other players in terms of sharpness/fitness.

We've just confirmed the signing of Jamie Lindsay from Ross County by the way.  Add him to the three who started last night and MacDonald and we look well catered for in midfield.

Not many League One sides will fancy defending against an attacking unit featuring any three or four of the likes of Vassell / Ladapo / Smith / Proctor / Morris / Wiles / Crooks (take your pick).  Plenty of pace and power there.  With quality from the likes of MacDonald and Barlaser (now maybe Lindsay if he is also capable) feeding them, we have the capacity to overrun a lot of League One sides.

The Irish lad from Shamrock is apparently close to joining for a fee to back up and push Mattock, and another centre half is needed to bolster numbers.

Nearly there, and looking good.

The spanner in the works might be an unwelcome departure, but as long as we replace like for like we will have to live with it.  Its no good keeping any player who wants to go, as long as the price is right.

Don't listen to gwru same every season always a player he wants to pull down give him 6 months that's what the training facilities are for to bring players through. New signing Lindsey should be a good addition another signing before the weekend then a centre half we should be good to go. As I say about the millers I don't shine if you don't shine.

You won't change my mind. Olsunde was never at the races last night. Wiles was easily our best midfielder. If he plays to that level & doesn't get picked I'll know Warney has players like in the past he will not leave out of the side.
