I go to plenty of away games. There are a number who drink plenty and don't cover themselves in glory as there are with any club, but they've never spoilt my enjoyment or that of my teenagers who come with me. There are plenty of Warne's good human beings in the regular away crowd.
I totally agree with Whiston01. We got a couple of thumpings away last season but were well in plenty of those games and were very unlucky not to pick up more points. In addition to the games that Whiston mentions I would add that we came from behind at Hull and were battering them in pursuit of a winner towards the end, and we also looked the more likely to win it towards the end at Reading (Newell had a gilt edged chance in the final minute). Also Leeds away, when we went in 0-0 at half time after Taylor had hit the post and Willimas trod on the ball in front of an open goal.
The idea that we were hopeless in all our away games is just rubbish. We didn't quite have the composure/quality to come away with the wins that our efforts deserved.
It is also true that unfortunately Bolton away (when we went 442) and Ipswich away were two of our worst away performances of the season.
We might be short of cover on Saturday, particularly across the back four, but I think Warne will be able to field what he would regard as his strongest starting eleven even if he had all players fit to choose from. I think Olosunde, Ihiekwe, Robertson and Mattock is our best back four. Wood is there as cover. Jones may also be fit. Warne has made it clear that we are trying to get another centre back in (I would imagine a right-sided one) and what happened to Clarke was freakish although according to the last report I saw he shouldn't be out for long.
How much did Donny get for Marquis? Undisclosed fee. He's a year older than Ladapo more than likely in the last year of his contract, proven goalscorer in league 1. I'd say max' £1 million. Good signing for Pompey, so is Williams we should never have let him go for nothing. Should have been an option to extend his contract by a year. Back to us couldn't see nobody offering a million for Smudger. Ladapo he's worth at the moment what we paid for him, but that could rise. Our other strikers wouldn't be worth much.

I think i said on the 'Positions' post that Hinds needed a season long loan somewhere. That doesn't mean he hasn't made it, surely it means he needs more time. Sometimes even a clown like me gets it nearly right, lol.
Hinds going to Bradford means at the present we have got only 1 recognised left back. Knock kneed Clarke out for up to 6 weeks I know Robertson can cover but it leaves us a bit fragile in defence. Plus only 1 right back . A automatic sending off and another injury in that department where will we be. Should have been another centre half in by now.

Regarding Hinds it’s an odd one. He’s been at this stage of his development for around three years now and not progressed any further than the odd loan spell in non league.

Would have thought we’d have released him.
Gone to Bradford PA on loan till January, doesn't anyone look at the OS??
