Summer Transfer Dealings

I think this has been one of the most interesting summers in a very long while.

I can't find anything to be negative about at all.

Good sales. Progressive young signings.

The club putting its philosophy into its dealings and hoping to form a continued revenue stream while we get to witness development of players and success on the pitch.

Taylor & Forde can't get a club cause they weren't very good in three seasons for us even in league 1. A big fat no from me to either returning. How would Taylor get in this side? He was never a winger. We've 5 midfield players, make it 6 when Clarke signs.

Agree totally Ian.

We need to give the team time to gel, so I'm hoping second half of the season we really show the benefit of the new signings.

I was looking fwd to last season, but mainly of the back of the promotion and thought we would struggle, with very few signings... This season is a different thing..

Question can you send loan players back before the transfer window ends? I wasn't that impressed with Morris against WBA. Sooner keep Vassell than him. We only need 4 strikers, can't see us playing 3 up front with 6 players to choose from in midfield when Clarke signs. When we sign Clarke & a Centre back will make a squad of 20. That's enough.

We are going to need a strong squad if we are to compete next season. Your little perfect 11 will not do it . Injuries suspensions plus playing Saturday Tuesday week in week out will take it's toll. A lot of games are won in the last 10 minutes need depth in the squad to do it.

Bid in for another defender, not tilt or the player from Orient.

This must be the first time I can remember we’ve acted like a proper outfit in the transfer market, we’ve options if certain deals don’t come off. Makes a great change instead of the scrambling about we used to do.

And the thing that has changed is the recruitment team. So hats of to Rob Scott et al!

Linked to Forest winger American Gboly Ariyiba. Wasn't he recently at Chesterfield ?

Hope these new players settle in quickly I would love to see us give Div 1 teams a good pasting Portsmouth are the one I want us to beat after what coward of the county did. Lincoln game they have sold 800 tickets in 20 minuets I expect 2,000 plus let see if the Rotherham public are going to back the club sell NYS out. I don't normally feel this confident at the start of the season just start winning some games.

Trevor Clarke signs on a 3 yr contract good news. Bad news he's been stretchered off in a leg brace in an under 23 game. Hope it's just precautionary. If it's not time to get Hinds on bench as cover for Mattock. Robertson isn't a left back, need him at centre back.

You'd have Hinds in ahead of Robertson on the left because you don't want to play Robertson out of position.  That is fair enough.  But at the same time you argued to move Ihiekwe in ahead of Olosunde at right back.  You can't have it both ways.

Terrible luck with Clarke.  If it is ligament damage as rumoured it will be several weeks minimum.  A great shame for the lad and obviously not what we were hoping for.

smiler how Olosunde played Saturday I'm happy for him to start at Wimbledon, hope there's improvement in him defensively. At least Ihiekwe is right sided. If we have a natural left back like Hinds if he's ready though how we'll ever know if he doesn't even get enough game time in friendly's I'd play him in front of players better at centre back like Robertson or right sided players. We need another centre back, if Wood comes on defence looks all over the place.

Regards Gboly Ariyiba he's right sided so not really needed. Clarke Warney he's apparently said injury not as bad as 1st feared. I can't work it out we've signed all these midfield players but we haven't got a 1st choice wide left player. Missing piece of the jigsaw along with a centre back.

Vassell said to be staying. Proctor then to go. Only need 4 strikers in the match day 18.

We will want all 5 strikers over the course of the season. If our manager is playing 3 up front I can't see nobody going.

Gwru ffs you cant see why we need 5 strikers and why we haven't signed a left winger because in your brain we need players to play 442. WE ARE PLAYING 433. THE MANAGER KEEPS SAYING SO AND WE HAVE PLAYED NOTHING BUT 433 IN SIX CONSECUTIVE GAMES.

smiler some of the sides in league 1 you could play 4 up front but the majority of the sides in league 1 will soon work 3 up front out. What happens when the weather turns & the passing game doesn't work. Get one of the strikers off the books, me as I said weeks ago would be Proctor & get a wide left player in. If we play 4-3-3 all season & fail to get in the top 6 Warney he's got to go.
