Fair point Derbymiller. Where Williams is concerned it's just a bit irritating when a player who was at best inconsistent goes public with reasons for turning down our contract offer that don't sit well, and when posters on here blame the manager for him leaving when really the player didnt do more to justify us trying harder to keep him. Anyway, you're right its time to move on.
I think overall the manager is not the cause of players leaving except for a few like D. ball. I suspect most of it is to do with money or they think they are championship players. The other reason will be overall club prospects and ambition, I think we have recruited well so far, but we are a long way short of a top six SQUAD and I think the management team know that but they are professionals and will not publicly say anything about the closing of deals, I still think Paul Douglas causes us to lose out on players
I've already said the plan all this window is to use the Vaulks & Ajayi money to build a new squad. Have to wait. No point getting players in for the sake of it. Paul Davies saying a keeper in for the weekend, he should know what's happening at the club.
that is good news if keeper joins us, still a long way off a top six squad, especially if Semi goes as well. Some good players in the 1st team, but limited depth
Watched highlights from last night still no left sided player. Hate seeing players cut inside all the time. Ajayi he's going to go, quicker the better. Could do with his replacement who can play centre back & holding midfield. Only got Mcdonald for that role, not sure how fit he is. Keeper, at least one Centre back. Two wide players both wings then we are ready to go.
We need to get a move on with the rest of the squad there might be a goalkeeper in for the weekend. Haven't a clue what is happening with the centre half situation all up in the air. I can't see Grant Ward comming so we need 2 wide men and another midfielder pronto.
Daily Mail reporting £1.3M deal done with West Brom for Semi. No mention of any add-on clauses but I'd be amazed if there weren't any. Wonder who he'll be playing for next Tuesday!?
Well if the Daily Mail is reporting it it MUST be true with their impeccable journalistic reputation.
Daylight robbery if this does turn out to be the case.
I know it's a truism, but he's worth whatever the highest bidder will pay for him. By all accounts Barnsley and WBA were the only clubs in for him and WBA offered the most. With a year to go cash in, give him chance to progress at a big club, and reinvest the money. Good business. Its reported a keeper is coming in any day and the rumours linking us with Tilt of Blackpool persist. Couple more on top of that, and we are good to go.
Agreed Smiler. The 2 CBs were my least concern as I think Robertson and Ikky are top class. If we can bring in Tilt as cover and a Keeper, I'll be happy that we're almost there.

..sounds good Smiler. Semi didn't play last game and expect he won't be in the sqaud for Chessy, and if so, suggests the deal is done with WBA.
Be great if we can keep Smith.
Really looking fwd to season & next Tuesdy's match (Will Semi start for WBA!!?? )
Fee will be undisclosed. Two ways of looking at it. Last season up to end of March Ajayi was our main man. April/May his form had dipped considerably. Personally to me he was just an emergency midfielder, he'd been played out of position too long. If he goes to WBA will be as a Centre back. Get his replacement, a keeper. Two wide men both wings. Reading tizer today Warney on about playing 4-3-3. That will be boring football. I've seen it before in friendly's you get mislead. But to me Warney he's doing same as last season he's going to have players he won't put on the bench. How are you going to have our 4 midfield players starting in the same side?
I don't follow you gwru. He cant put four midfielders into three positions. One or more (we might well and probably should sign another) will miss out. We need subs, cover for injuries and suspensions and competition for places. Personally with Ajayi now gone I think we need a good keeper (probably the lad from Leicester), a right sided centre half (Tilt is a good defender) a left sided defender (to push Mattock - Purrington was never the answer) and another midfield player. That would give us a 21 man senior squad and cover in every position plus the likes of Hinds, Kayode, Bilboe and Cooper and would complete the jigsaw for me.
Official Ajayi gone. Need a player like him to replace him. Centre back who can play holding midfield. Can Tilt play that? If not look elsewhere. Keeper needed. Been long enough now waiting for the Leicester keeper, same look elsewhere. Two wide men both wings definitely needed. But as I've said Warney he's dug himself into a hole again. Got players in midfield he won't put on the bench. You can't take league 1 for granted, still got to set the side up right.
Warney had said after today's match keeper coming in Monday young lad on trial Brad Dockerty for 2 weeks a wide player. Another player comming in1going out. Reports we have signed that Ross County player for £300,000 We have been chasing him.
Don't need another attacking midfielder. Trialist young lad do they ever make it, I can't remember one who did. Warmey says 2 or 3 in early next week, one leaving Proctor? Keeper, replacement for Ajayi. If we are going to get one wide player in sooner it be left sided.
