So I take it that the Blades fans are calling him a legend, a rock who didn't didn't lose a game that he started, which was almost forty when he helped carry the Blades to 100 points when they won the League 1 title is irrelevant, because all you know about him is that he is 33. Surreal.

That was 3 seasons ago. 3 seasons ago Warnock kept us in the championship. Wood played his part but now couldn't. Couldn't care less what blades fans say risk factor signing a 33 yr old player well outweighs the chances of him being able to do a job for us.

I think i am with Gwru on this one. Not sure we need another elder left sided central defender when we have Robertson and Wood. Lets hope its just rumours and there's no substance to it.
Purrington has gone to Charlton. Not seen any mention of how much. We need to get Mattock on a longer contract now as we only have Hinds on a one year contract. On Purrington. He obviously did well last season so lets hope we have at least got our money back. If we have got more than 300k then good business, anything less then you have to ask what did we see in him to sign him for 300k. I remember talking to John Breckin just after Purrington arrived and he said you don't get a lot for 300K. Johns a good judge and without saying he wasn't great i think even then he was indicating it wasn't a great signing and would struggle to get in our first team. Work in progress possibly and good luck to the lad.

Dominic Ball signs for Q.P.R. Playing in a division above us, or will he be a bench warmer. Sent packing early by us. Perhaps the Scottish air has made a man of him. Cue gwru

In regards Dominic ball I always seemed to be in the minority about him I always said that warne seemed unable to man manage him so shipped him.out. wood has been a good player for the club but. I my opinion ball was one for the future.

Barlaser loan until May 20 confirmed on Magpie's Official Website. It's coming together well.

Time will tell, but i am really pleased we are doing the business early, and not getting gazzumped.

Watched the Barlaser interview online, and he sounds like a nice fella, and will be one for the future for Newcastle, Good to see a Big PL team recognising us and what we can offer the lad.

He knows the division after being at Accrington last season, fair play Millers, fair play .

Yep well done.

Sounds like we have been chasing him a while and beat off a couple of championship clubs. Good to see our reputation is growing.

Agree with that Worcester, better than waiting to see what is left over... and also shows we are landing targets rather than just taking someone because we have to fill places before season start...

Starting to really look fwd to the season start - which is a refreshing change from last few summers..

looks like this might be next one :

"One-cap United States international of Nigerian descent, Matthew Olosunde is being linked with a transfer to Rotherham United.

The official website of Major League Soccer is reporting that Olosunde is close to joining Rotherham United, who are fresh off being relegated to League One.

The right back is now a free agent following his release by Manchester United at the end of the 2018-2019 campaign.

He is believed to be on the radar of clubs in Major League soccer but his priority is to join a new club in England.

Olosunde had been a key player for United's U23 side before he suffered a serious injury which kept him on the sidelines for several months.

Although primarily a right fullback, he is a versatile player who is capable of playing as a central defender, left back and right midfielder."

So possibly fits our need for a central defender... if it comes off..

Think we may see him as more of a option at full back to cover Billy Jones.

Literally an unknown but you don’t play at Manchester United for nothing.

Tom Thorpe came from Man U, he didn't cut the mustard. I'd have liked a more established Right back just making his mark. I'm not a massive fan of Jones. One of the main reasons we went down last season we didn't have a Right back good enough for the championship.

thought jones did well. Not one to rest on that though. not want to reopen the casket but I think not scoring goals and a dozen other reasons would be ahead of just citing jones as "one of the main reasons".

personally, I think its the fans in block 43 row7.

The main reason we were relegated last season poor recruitment. Now this transfer window so far looks a lot better as I have said in earlier posts waiting to see how Mr Scott goes on. Let's be honest even I could have done a better job with how we performed in January. He seems to be a lot better at getting deals over the line dealing with agents is like knitting with chewing gum. Getting ready for the new season UTM.

Matthew Olosunde signed today. Another International on our books (USA) and another of Nigerian decent, joining Ikky and Ajayi. Blistering pace and models himself on Man Utd's Valencia - should be interesting. I'm liking the look of this emerging new squad and next season is looking more and more promising following each new signing.

Keeper missing link. If Ajayi goes, act. See if Grant Ward signs, got Lamy while he's up to speed. A natural left winger would be nice.

yes its feeling more attacking and fresh.

i think we might have needed to part with many that have gone. Even the better players need motivation.

Rotherham missed a trick why didn't they sign yesterday the 4th of July Independence day. Welcome to the club have read he can cover all back 4 positions we are going to need someone who can div1 is one big slog. Not going to be able to play our perfect 11 all of the time. Looks as if we are going to give Grant Ward more time to prove his fitness.

Looks like Palmer is going on loan to Bradford. That can only be good for all concerned.
