Three wingers set to move on

Reported in the Tizer. Needs a shake up. Apart from Williams other three not cut the mustard. Just hope we are not left with Forde, he'd be the last winger out of the four I'd keep.

It’s no secret Williams wants to play in the Championship, whether he gets back there is something entirely different. Reading between the lines the other three can’t agree terms. The club needs to make a quick decision and give them an ultimatum so we can move on. Doncaster are reportedly interested in Joe Newell. I wouldn’t be broken hearted if all four moved on.

I think I mentioned it a bit back...Taylor, Newell, Forde have had their chance and proved pretty average in positions you need creativity and goals and agree a shake up might be best with them (although flip side you know what ya getting?). Vassel I think needs another season and a good string of games to see what he's made of. Would like to keep Willo tho I think he's class with the right players around him.

My guess we wil end up with Forde not my choice I think it is time for a change over to you Mr Scott just hoping that he can do some decent business for us I would like to see a couple of players with some genuine pace. The new signing Morris did not do much last time he was here remember that sitter he missed against the massives but in the play off final I thought he was one of Shrewsbury's better players if he can play like that for us next season he might be decent.

Couple of things I can't work out. Warney said a while back 2 of the wingers will be going. Why isn't there a option on Williams contract to extend it for a season to stop him leaving for nothing? Why did we offer Forde another contract when Warney tried to loan him out in last seasons summer transfer window?

Not a popular opinion granted but Williams is the first Id let go of the four. Cant say I remember him influencing too much for the positives and he was not consistent defensively-rather he was a bit of a liability. Taylor has better stats albeit both are rather threadbare.
However, ive expressed before that we might be hard pressed to do much better and after all they were just (but only) good enough to be part of promotion last time out in L1. Strangely a good reason for trying to keep as many as possible.

Bottom line dont think any would attract Championship interest except those bottom 3 clubs. At around 26 years for each of them, they are in their prime and its reasonable to think clubs would look elsewhere for youth or proven experience.

Vaulks, Ajayi, Williams these are players we should be keeping hold of in my opinion (unless silly money is on the table). Let's be realistic, there will be no purchases again this summer or January. TS and the board are propping this club up (admirably) to the minimum required for survivial (and calling it living within our means which is crap), as the club isn't financially viable because of their own failures in not realising other revenue streams of G&C, the units and use of NYS for events (granted England matches) etc. Without these things we will never amount to anything, RUFC doesn't make net gains in buying / selling on players, costs are increasing year on year with wages and revenue is declining. The smoke screen can only last so long before TS and the board's resources / charity / good faith is used up.

Please please please leave the Champ alone for 5 years, get the backend revenue streams sorted out pronto. Then build the academy, advance the scouting dept. develop the training facilities further. Get the right platform before going for Champ football, we can't keep going up and winging it all the time.

That being said, after watching the play offs, and if that standard is top end L1, I can't see many teams being able to get the ball off us already as it stands....and that scares me, doing well without doing too much.

Ì thought last season was very dour just want to see us winning a few games when we lost at the blades we went downhill after that. Wait and see who we fetch in with our budget and no debt we should have a chance of getting into the top 6 I agree having watched the play offs nothing to be frightened of. Ì think it is time for a good clear out build a team around Wiles get him playing up to his potential it could be party time for the millers.

Frankly none of the 4 were allowed to be wingers as we never had anyone in box to cross to imo

Forde & Taylor while they've been here never been wingers. Newell last season was his worst, rarely up for it. How Warney is talking Morris will be a left sided forward so if Williams doesn't stay going to need a right winger good enough. We will continue to play 3 central midfielders, which I agree with. Will need replacements for Ajayi & Vaulks.

Dragging our feet about our so called wingers in my opinion I would have kept Williams leaving it to long for any of them to make there minds up a week 10 days at most my prediction only Forde will sign I can here the cheers of joy when that news comes out. The next few weeks are critical see what Mr Scott and co can do it will make or break our season and Mr Warnes job.

The problem with the retail units is there is no real footfall walking past every day for any proper retail sales, so it would have to be something like a gym. but thats only one unit out of 4.

Or Maybe we could re-design/ alterations to them and let them as popup offices or even fixed office space.

Warney when he got rid of Potter I said there's hope for him yet. If he keeps Forde Warney my doubts will be back about him again.

Taylor has gone, said his goodbyes on Instagram & twitter this morning, Williams has indicated that he will be moving on but nothing concrete yet. Forde & Newell decisions later in the week but which week. Warne should give these players a yes or no deadline so we can get moving recruitment wise. We do not need or want another summer like last year.

Taylor is no way a championship player. Forde & Newell don't have as much to offer as Taylor. I've said this before I can't understand why we didn't have a option to extend players contracts for a further season who would command a fee like Taylor & Williams. Taylor was our record signing at a reported £500,000. We are letting him go for nothing.

Yes. My mate just sent me the instagram of Taylors departure. A shame really in the scheme of things.

As said the fee was probably quite high if not a record for us and we can ill afford to let decent players go , but gone his is.

Cant imagine he will do too much better from a footballing point of view. Thats not to say he wasnt good for us and particularly always was a 100% player.  I imagine he might make up  the squad somewhere a little bigger or better at present.

Have a vote on here, which out of the 4 wingers would you least like to stay. Forde so limited for me. With Taylor said on here gone + it looks likely Williams isn't staying I don't want be left with the short straws Forde & Newell.

Taylor had pace and tried hard. He also had a knack for mis-hitting shots and getting them deflected in as per his goals against Sheff Utd at home and Hull away which is a happy knack to have but probably not something you can build a career on. I appreciate his efforts, but hopefully we can replace him with a wide player who can get his head up and deliver a final ball or shot on target more consistently. It is probably the right time for him to move on.
