With the sad end of millersbanter i am thinking of giving millersmad a try . I am sure people on this site have views about them. Is it as bad as some make out. I have had a look and like here there are differing views. Your views would be appreciated.
Right, some of the Crew from Banter are contemplating jumping ship and join MM ship's company? If memory serves me well, wasn't Banter launched nearly 5 years ago when Exetermiller left the then mutinous ship MM? Have things changed aboard MM? I doubt it very much. Banter Crew beware. Its a very sad day for this great forum with some fantastic posters ie Smiler, Glenn, Brad, Ian and others, and I will miss their banter. And what refreshing banter too in comparison to the bile on MM which makes the demise of this site even more regrettable, I dont know any of the above but feel as though they are mates. Although I wasn't a regular poster because I cant get to many games these days,I had reached a total of 799 posts and just for the sake of it, celebrated 800 with an response to gwru, some of who's post were at times infuriating and other times I agreed with, love him or hate him he added to the colour of the site.
So I'm now on 802 and goodbye and farewell to you all
I'm happy on MB. Before I was banned on MM I was on both sites anyway that's why originally my username on this site was T71. I'm not a multi, I can't disguise myself. If this site goes I'll try to rejoin MM. Some people on there don't like me but I'm not everyone's cup of tea.

I don't have any mates on this site, Towdlad. We are merely fellow travellers. I'm a reasonable adventurer on the High Seas with another posting to take up after Banter is recalled to Dock.
It's a shame this site is closing. It's what I call sanctuary from the Madhouse. Some good features on here and it's easy to negotiate. I can appreciate why you're closing down after all the hard work and funding over the years.
Exetermiller, could you private message me details about the hosting charges & additional expenditure please? I'm sure if a few like minded individuals could join me in a rescue package for this superb site that Ex has handled wonderfully well so far.

I'm sure you and the named 'fantastic posters' will be able to meet up from time to time just to reminisce about the adventures aboard the good ship Banter.
Anyway, who would want an inclusive group of people discussing all things sporty when you can have an exclusive club small enough to meet in an old red telephone kiosk?
Oddly enough I know how much it costs to host and maintain a website. Maybe I could have been of assistance to help keep the good ship Banter afloat.
Maybe it doesn't pay to be so dismissive of others. I don't have the problem of a sinking ship. Not sure that I would want to take that problem on board now. I'm sure you get my drift.

Have not posted much Ex but thanks for your efforts to put this site on the map. Its been a good read from afar. Shame but that seems to be the cost these days. Good luck to the posters. GWRU, think you might be good on millersmad.
Yes it's been a very superior site in terms of ease of use and generally good and honest contributions. Very much will be missed and such a shame to have only one postee board. I say shame as each community tends to it's own culture and I'd like to think RUFC has more sides than just that.

I wonder what One_Kevin_Kline would have said about the current situation? He was a most polite and courteous character on this site according to people I've met down the local. Kevin was a mysterious character who was one of the first to register on here. He sadly disappeared soon after registering 1500 posts and was never heard of again. Some say that he was wise beyond his years and jumped ship when it docked on the coast somewhere in the West Country. Others joined the ship's company soon after Kevin left.
I often wondered if the good ship Banter was cursed when Kevin left. All I know is that there was only One_Kevin_Kline.

Exetermiller Millersbanter- the end? does that mean it's not 100 % certain this site will end. Is there ways of keeping it going. Like to know. I personally don't want to go back on MM that's if they'd have me back on which I doubt.
Thank you Ex for all your effort in running such a commendable site. Since inception I have been an avid reader but only recently started to contribute myself. Compared to the other chamber, Millers Banter has always remained a much more genteel experience.
