Judd Trump going great guns. As for Higgins. He's fought back to make it 4-4 against Robertson. Once these players get their eye in, there's no stopping 'em. Trump is a prime example. Brilliant stuff. Others may disagree and say it's brilliantly stuffy. But hey, some people can't get enough of shove ha' penny down in some Devon pubs. Not forgetting skittles. Each to their own and whatever floats their barges, say I.

Dominoes used be my game. Pub knockouts, taken serious. Great game. Nobody plays now.

Counting up the spots, knocking and all that. I'm not sure if it could ever have become a spectator sport even though I played the game as a youngster. The biggest conversation stopper, in my opinion, is squash. I'll say no more on that subject.

Higgins v Gilbert Trump v G Wilson semi finals. I'm going Gilbert v Trump final. Higgins was immense tonight. Trump got the job done, but hopefully hasn't peaked yet.

Ruby Walsh retired this evening after winning the Punchestown Gold cup on Kemboy. One of the greats. Kauto Star Denman Hurricane Fly two Nationals highlights but so many more. No more Ruby Tuesdays at Cheltenham. Right time for him to bow out.

Kauto Star and Denman both trained by Paul Nicholls in Somerset were stars in their own right.

Dawn Run trained by Paddy Mullins was a relentless galloper. She was my all time favourite.

Watched most of the semi finals. Higgins was abit lose for him. Gilbert good break builder. Two sessions today should tell us more. Feel/hope Trump has another gear. G Wilson he's done well to get this far won't go away if Trump doesn't take his chances.

Trump has to take the match by the scruff of the neck. He's got the skills needed to win. Higgins is old school and has won this tournament four times. At this stage anyone of the remainder could go on to win it. What do I know now? My tip, Ding, failed against Trump. I thought the game was up for Ding when his odds shortened very dramatically overnight from 50/1 to 12/1 to win the tournament outright after his first round win. I'm now watching and enjoying the snooker as it unfolds.

Flaming profiteroles! Higgins has beaten Gilbert to reach the Final. I didn't see that one coming.

Repeat of the 2011 final. Higgins v Trump. Going to be epic in Trump's words. Not far wrong.

Higgins has ground out a good win against the very tearful Gilbert. Higgins is a course and distance winner at the Crucible. However, Trump has been the more consistent throughout the past year leading up to and including this tournament. A tough one to call. I'll just sit back and watch the drama unfold.

Trump triumphant, gwru. Good call by you from the outset. The wheat has certainly been sorted from the chaff. Others should take note of your sporting knowledge. Well done!

MM I told them a few years ago Judd Trump was a world Champion in waiting. You can't keep a talent like that down. He's joined the illustrious group of players who have won snooker's triple crown UK Masters World titles. 11 players now have done it, some of the most famous names in snooker. To MM you can't keep my talent down for tipping. I've got one golden rule. Go on what you see. Knew Judd had it in him from day 1 seeing him.

We all tend to see things in a different light. However, some people are more perceptive than others. At the moment I couldn't tip a wheelbarrow. Keep on with the good work, gwru.

Been a good night with Man C winning. Not a fan of Liverpool fc especially their fans. Can't think of my next tip. Not into flat horseracing. Wimbledon mens singles will look at someone on the way up. Been too long now with the same players winning it.

My final word on this years world snooker championship. John Higgins he took it well. Gracious in defeat as he was in victory over Gilbert. A great match player just unlucky he ran into Trump when he was unstoppable. Unlike surly Steve Maguire who said Trump was lucky. Maguire should count himself lucky to be on the same table as Trump!
