Final Predictions

In my line of work I often have to work with people in the most awful of cir***stances. At times like this it is about guiding people through there experience and arriving at a new place where the real situation can be seen, felt and worked with to bring more acceptance and hope.

Often people would say " dont think about it , it might never happen". We now know this ancient advice is tosh.  However thinking is not recommended unless it is skilled thinking. One just cant not think about it with the flick of a switch. One has to work hard to not think and harder still to think and not feel the unpleasant feelings.

So I thought it might be therapeutic to offer this site as a place where you can confront your fears, woes, and anxious and depressed thoughts.  work through any denial and just as vital to work through unrealistic expectations. The middle is always the place no one wants to settle for too long but it is by far the most advantageous spot.

I will start. I am worried that RUFC will stay up. I dont think I could take another several games of football with all the uncertainty. I feel like avoiding it all together. switching off. Hoping for the worst so I can put it to bed. I cant bear the thought of a last day survival or even a run of 4 straight victories that have us safe 3 games before the end. It will make me think about having to go through it all again next year. I cant take that. And if we go down, I will feel sad and a little depressed. I dont want to go down either. what a waste it will seem. And getting back up will not be so easy next time. lets face it we were very lucky to come into form at the right time to sneak the play offs.

Please feel free to give me advice and a warm shoulder to anyone who is brave enough to confess their heart feelings.

Let it happen, it is what it is, and dont worry about it, all that is required is to give yourself whole heartedly into what needs to be done this very moment.

Relegation hasn't happened neither has staying up, neither at this moment exist. What exists is this moment, so live this moment, doing what you are doing and your mind will not be troubled by that which does not exist.

If your mind wanders to Warney and the 'lads' just quietly bring your mind back to what you are doing right now. Now is the reality all else is a day dream.

I think you are needed in the NYS boardroom Towldlad.

anyway, back to my dream confession...I think we will be relegated by 6 points and goal difference.  everyone loses on saturday.

points from last seven games

Reading 9

Wigan 9

Birmingham 5

I've not really paid much attention to the remaining fixtures of our relegation rivals - until tonight. Anticipating that Ipswich and Bolton have already gone, Rotherham's run-in looks less difficult than the others - bar Millwall possibly. Both Reading's and Wigan's are horrendous and no matter who QPR play, they can't beat anyone at the moment. Any points we can squeeze out of Villa on Wednesday will be massive in terms of survival. It will all come down to matching or bettering our rivals and with the games remaining, there is no reason why we can't leap-frog at least one of our rivals.

Onwards and upwards!

It's not all about the winning. It all boils down to not losing at all.

There will be one of us, Reading, Millwall and Wigan who will hit the buffers and get very few points between now and the final game. I would love a win on Wednesday but realistically a draw would still be a good result against the form team in the division. Every point gained might be the one that makes the difference.
