Mansfield / Lincoln on Sky tonight have look at the opposition we might be playing next season. We just seem to be stuck in that 3rd from bottom position I honestly can't see us getting out of it but you never know in football.
If you play all season in the championship with a striker that doesn't score then you are only going in one direction. Smith is our biggest problem - we've had too many games where his ineptitude cost us points by not taking his chances. We should have taken a loan signing at the off and paid the wages - im sure the revenue loss of dropping to L1 will be much more.

I agree that he should take more chances... but not with anything else you've put.
Nowt wrong with differing opinions, so not having a go... but he's CLEARLY been one of our stand-out players all season.
Our issue is not him, it's that we don't have any other capable strikers
Not got a problem at all with Smudger. Next game what matters. Just hope Robertson is fit. Williams should be back. Midfield while Vaulks comes back apart from Ajayi & Wiles more a problem.
Smith must be so relieved to get a break. Most teams don't ask their forwards to complete 90 minutes and they get a break every now and again. He plays 90 minutes in every game and often fights a lone battle getting pulled around and beaten up. And apparently with a broken to for the last few games. I thought there would never be another Alex Revell for sheer hard work and commitment, but Smith has matched him and to my mind has achieved similar hero status.
He is the one that has put him in no-mans land for 85% of the time.
We have only looked like a fully outfitted team since he go the wing backs higher up and plugged the hole more effectively in the middle.
Im sorry to say that this was obvious to many but took Warne a few months to go through his process to arrive at the same point.
It really was scandalous that the club did not have anyone watching the scout and his system and with the knowledge and experience to call it. Big failure. No signing in a position like ours. very very unforgivable.
I listened to warnes and TS countless interviews over the last 3 months and they are painful. Its all about surviving comfortably. plans, definite outcomes. great scouting system. know what we need. confident we will get the players in.
