Danny Ward

Just picking up inbetween on what I've seen been said. Cardiff today it's said are to sign a £20 million striker. Could Danny Ward be the striker we are waiting for? Got to be fit obviously but him or someone like him who is left sided would be ideal. On loan till the end of the season in his case.

I'm a yesterday man [Chris Andrews 1965] never bring back players never works not got time to faff about with Warnocks cast offs.

I've seen and heard the same suggestion/rumour. I'd have mixed feelings about it. On one hand he ticks a lot of boxes. He has got an eye for a goal, and can play anywhere across the front line. His work ethic was always good. On the other hand, as a rule I don't think returns to former clubs generally work out very well, and would he not see it as a big step backwards? Plus he has always been injury prone and as we have a small squad we can't afford to have players out of action. The virtually 100% absence of Billy Jones this season has really hurt us this season. I honestly can't see the Danny Ward thing happening.

The problem we have is that we won’t deviate from the formation we use unless we are loosing with 20 minutes to go.

Not sure how we sell that to a potential new forward. Understand we can’t drop Smith either because of what he brings, so bringing someone in with genuine quality and convincing them to be an impact man is going to be difficult and that’s before we start to talk money.

LOSING, the word is LOSING !!! Yeah it's trivial but it annoys the hell out of me how so many people on here can't spell a simple word especially one we sadly use far too often.
As for Ward nah, too inconsistent & far too injury prone.

We won't & I wouldn't change from our 4-5-1 formation. Any new striker will play in the side with Smith but would be on the left. Linking with Smudger when he can.

I think a Danny Ward type player is what Warne will be after. Someone who can play as one up if Smith is out for any reason, or can play off Smith, or who can play as a wide attacker. Vassell is probably the nearest we've got but after a promising start he hasn't really got going. Derbyshire did a similar job for Warnock.

I'm not sure ward is what we need to stop our loosening stake. I do wish we could win and not loose, but looseing is where we are at.
The striker I would get would be a loose fox in the box.

He may not stop looseing, but it's the right way to do it.

Sometimes it needs speelling out. We won't stop being looserners until we play a traditional and tights two up front. Let's break that speel and get It wrote write on and off the pitch.

*** on warne. Swallow you're need for ***rades. Be a man and pick winners not you're favorite loosen men.

Heard Williams on the radio welcoming Yates said he scored 7 goals for Carlisle the loan period might have given him plenty of match practice at the moment we need a fit body in the squad give him a go. Sometimes a player goes out on loan and comes back a much better player lets have look at hlm at least he is one of our players. Looked at the matches on Saturday if we get a win the other clubs around us all have difficult matches.

I said against Ipswich play Yates on the left. Couldn't have been any worse than Taylor. Williams back on the right this Saturday

JFK couldn't spell properly. Look what he achieved. Hang on! Is that the reason why someone got angry with him all those years ago? Must be. He couldn't spell for toffee.

Been having a look on the wonderful world of twitter Danny Ward name keeps popping up as I have said not fussed myself been injured a lot of the time not scored many goals injury problems just like most of the strikers we already have. Kenneth Zohore name also mentioned now there's a player worth getting only a loan probably would only come to put himself in the shop window I wonder if are prepared to push the boat out.
Can't see us getting anybody before the weekend give Yates a go at least while he has been away he has knocked e few goals in.

Kenneth Zahore more like it. Left sided. Yes to a loan till the end of the season if possible.

Good to see Warneys not going for Ward Marquis out of the picture also looks like the usual scramble for a couple of players in the last few days of the transfer window. Definitely give Yeats a go against Brentford that's the problem nothing on the bench to put on that's why teams in this division have the advantage over us not enough strength in depth.

My side for the Brentford game: Rodak; Jones Ajayi Robertson Mattock; Williams Wiles Vaulks Crooks Yates, Smith. Towell wasn't showing much before he was suspended. Vyner gets beaten too easily at RB. Taylor is not a winger, definitely not a left winger. Yates can't be any worse. But I'm almost certain Towell will start, wouldn't be shocked if Taylor starts on the left, Vyner at RB.

And meanwhile another week of the transfer window flies by with our beloved head of recruitment & the rest of RUFC's hierarchy achieving sweet FA regarding strengthening the ever depleting squad now Newell & Vassell need ops.
Now I've heard the club is looking to the European Leagues for talent, if I know RUFC it'll be the Lithuanian 4th Division.....saints preserve us!!!

Can you remember think it was that Portuguese winger we got. He was more like a ballet dancer! Agree another weeks gone by nothing changed. No right back good enough. No left winger like it's been all season.

Always the same this transfer window not much movement until the last week. Going to the match tomorrow hoping for a win see if Crooks is any good still my opinion Wiles is the signing of this window according to Warney he is on fire in training best player at the club by miles just hope we can keep hold of him.
