Wow! Leeds Cllr Judith Blake dropped a right ball way back in January 2019. She congratulated Leeds United on their promotion to the Premier League on Twitter months before the end of the football season.
Let's hear it for Leeds United. No? I didn't think so.
Kelles going to Wembley his knees have gone all trembly who would have thought it a few years ago when he came to us on loan probably the worst goalkeeper we have seen in the last few years but he has improved. Well done Derby just goes to show if you have a group of players who are not scared of the opposition just go for it. Could be a good final against Villa have really enjoyed the play offs much more fun than watching mega bucks in the top league
If being £100m in debt, losing £10m a year and spending £34m a year on wages alone against total income of £30m is having megabucks then you're quite right gwru. Both Derby and Villa have massively overspent and one of them will now get away with it, which stinks. I'm not enjoying that spectacle one bit.

I think there will be a few championship clubs going the same way as Ipswich and Bolton there is no way with debt some clubs have that they can keep paying those big wages out I am much happier in the position we are in at least we can soon turn things around for next season if we were in that position I bet that the FPL would not be as sympathetic look at Bolton with Doidge no punishment there. Anyway glad Leeds failed I bet there is not many on this site crying in there beer for them.
Derby are not in debt, they sold their ground to pay it off. Their chairman who owns the retail facilities there bought the ground off the club, the efl approved the deal as well. So derby no longer own a ground. The owner is a derby guy life long derby fan and unlikely to shaft the club however if he sells up or dies they are screwed. Also a lot of the players were loan players this season from lampards connections so reduced the transfer spend.

You're right Derby. They ran up over £100m plus in debt and have improved their balance sheet by shifting ownership of the ground. It is a legitimate accounting exercise but one you can't use more than once. The transfer spend may have gone down by using the loan market, but their wage bill is still disproportionate to their revenue. Whichever way you slice it, they have gambled big time on getting to the Premier League sooner rather than later.
I kinda wanted to see Leeds face the challenge as Derby will be plain boring and so will Aston Villa. two teams whose playing style will not cause any problems for any team but significant boredom and predictable bets abound.
wait while the Millers get up there. It will be one season to last a hundred years.
