All we need is a win.

It's like when you're ill and not getting better. Then, the body suddenly rallies.

At least with football there is always the possibility of a cure.

We could well be enjoying life in League 1 next season.
As one door closes another one always shuts in our face.

We are reported to be showing an interest in an Aston Villa forward. According to one source several other clubs are showing a similar interest. The player has been named in one of the tabloids.

Stop reading if you've heard that one before.

Paul Davis, The Star, wasn't the first to obtain info about the possible transfer of  KD from Villa to RUFC.  wink

What the club don't seem to grasp is that if the woman of dubious virtue asks for 50 euros, and you offer 49, she ain't gunna play.. if you think she's only worth 46.. that counts for nowt.

If we want a striker, TS needs to pay the price for someone to score....

How many chances do we need? Championship isn't as strong as 2 seasons ago. Though we are more organised now & players play for the shirt more think we'd have been worst off than we are now regards league position 2 yrs ago. Got while 11pm tomorrow night to give us the best chance of staying up. Over to you Tony Stewart. You've had one bad season since you've been chairman. Fans backed you after that. Repay the faith. Saw enough against Leeds with a couple of additions better than we have. Get Williams & Newell + Wiles back we'll give it a right go at being in the Championship next season.

TS says he doesn't get involved in transfers at all, PW says it is not him that decides, yet TS says that he leaves it to the manager. The head of recruitment is doing a great job says TS and all the people at the club tell TS that. He also lives a long way away from the club, and we all know that cannot help build good relations with his colleagues. Other clubs bring in players, Wigan have signed Fox from Forest a outstanding signing, Reading bring in players, yet we bring in Cooke, a good player but he may not be ready for this level we are likely to see him at his best next season. We will lose £10m in revenue by being relegated yet Paul Davies would rather talk to TS about his OBE and biscuits that ask how as a business man can losing £10m in revenue make any sense?

On the pitch we have team spirit, a few players that have class, we have a manager that is cheap and loves the club but is totally incapable of tactically changing a game when plan A starts to fail (2nd half against Leeds). Warne needs help from an experienced coach that understands football and tactics, he needs to stop this great human being rubbish (example David Ball).

Warnes away record is absolutely awful, people keep saying we will win on saturday at Millwall, why will we? They are on a great run, they have taken 22 out of their 29 points at home we haven't won an away game in the championship for a season and a half, what planet are these people on.

We have needed investment in the team all year and the fact it is wednesday today and we have just over a day to go in the transfer window and we have not got a goal scorer at our club shows we are in a mess, it shows we are going down and everyone at the club expects it. Well when we are in the bottom half of League 1 next year let us see if the fans of the RUFC establishment still have the faith then.

We do not want us to be reckless, but we want action. We do not want PW to go but we want PW to be more self-aware of his limitations, learn and adapt. Football is about results, it always has been and always will be I think PW is scared to recruit because he has wasted money on players that haven't delivered for him in his system (does not mean they aren't capable) Palmer, Purrington, Proctor (contract extension for a crock). I have said it from the start PW is a nice bloke but he is a timid, cowardly manager and I have seen NOTHING to change that view.

I agree with most of that mate, good post. Although I think Warney has done better (last season in particular) than most of us expected.

I'm going to wait now until after the deadline, but if nothing happens we have the right to vent our frustratuon .

The last thing I will want to hear are excuses.

Normal people get sacked if they don't do their job properly, so if we don't sign anyone... I would want the person responsible sacked - no less... it's been a failing for 5 seasons.

..and if the reason is TS not supplying the funds to get things over the line, then the person in charge of signings needs to blow the whistle to save us pointing at him.. although I doubt he'll do that and upset TS.

anyway... time to go quiet for 36 hours and see where we are then...

Don't get me wrong, I really really hope they prove us wrong and get some in to improve the team and our chances of staying up.

The predictable lack of activity reminds me of the great Abraham Lincoln quote "you can fool all the people some of the time .....etc". There will be repercussions.

The main one being almost certain relegation. Obviously I can't speak for every fan but I'm sure the club's hierarchy's annual lie fest regarding transfers etc is starting to grate on them & will start to affect their decision making regarding ST renewal.

I would love Tony, Mr Douglas & others at RUFC to be honest for once in their lives & come out & say we're skint, we haven't put bids in here there & everywhere & the REAL reason "we couldn't quite get it over the line" is that the player after careful consideration decided that £300 a week & all the Pukka Pies you can eat isn't really for him.

from Warne's interview on OS .. he obviously has no clue if we will or won't sign anyone, nor who it might be...

it's all down to the mystery Mr Johnson....

I'll say nowt more until we see what happens... but based on past record , I have no faith
