Manning looked a good player in his first half dozen games but has looked less effective (less bothered?) more recently. Thanks for his efforts but ideally loan players need to really add something extra and I'm not sure Manning does that. I agree with Brad - it should be an opportunity to get someone in who can make more of an impact.

On OS seen Matt Hamshaw talking about Ben Wiles he will definetley play tomorrow said he played well on his full debut from what I have seen him play looks very promising might be the bit of quality we need in midfield as for Manning QPR only sent him out to get him match fit get yeats from Forrest in those 2 might be the bit of quality we need in midfield.

I hope we are not waiting until the last week in January às usual and then get a few shabby loans need players in yesterday. Wiles as far as I am concerned will be the best Signing of the bunch he is our future just hope we can keep hold of him. The way football is if he is a decent player can we keep hold of him as we have seen what happens around here with good young players they don't stop 5 minutes.

Steve Bruce has had a change of mind. He's now taken the Head Coach job at OWLS HQ sooner than expected. Good Luck, Steve. Lose any game and callers to Radio Sheff will soon be grumbling.

Is the Villa striker still on Warne's radar? Or is that a rhetorical question?

If what I heard on Teusday there might be some good news on the transfer front but knowing Rotherham nothing happens. Need to get signings over the line see if the recruitment guy can do a job for us time will tell. Can't wait to get the Man City match out of the way and beat Ipswich to get our first league away win this season.

Whispers are that Vaulks is on his way. Don't give him away,Tony and if it's Norwich don't lumber us with Raggett in part exchange !

Vaulk: form he's in minimum £3 million valuation. Don't take any less, no cast offs in part exchange. Raggett reminds of chopper Swift. Takes no prisoners. Makes Wood look like Usain Bolt!

 Agreed... £3M+

In-fact I'd put that price tag on any of our better players... I doubt if Tony will give Warney anything like that to spend... so it only makes sense to sell if he can allow Warney a budget to improve the team, and we are not going to get better players for nothing.

So, I'm hoping TS is not another Booth and sells too cheap and banks the cash.

Ragget is no cast off when Ajaih goes in the summer it could be a good partnership with Robertson Wood as a back up I had no complaints how he played on Jan 1st. Who do we think we can get as back up players on our wages. Build the side around Wiles he is our future Rotherham don't give a 3 1/2 year contract to young player they must rate him.

Vaulks will be hard to replace. He has improved, looks like he has more and runs the team. Terrific spirit, ability and athletic. I think he is one of the most talented all round players we have had. Still, if right back is as good as some think of him, or the club is so bereft at times he has to play there then he deserves a better chance. Personally, I'd stop any deal and hold him to the contract. Ajiya is OK but has too many flaws. He's still our best defender but not crucial or irreplaceable. I hope they all stay except Taylor. I'm glad we have recalled a few but I don't think any of them contribute much at this level. Poor Smith really needs a big helping hand. One or two effective attacking midfielders might be helpful in closing the gaps if we can't add a good striker. Not going to judge any new players or the club until they have had time. If we do bring in someone new then they have a decent chance of hitting the ground running as the team is quite stable and tight. Another reason Vaulks is priceless to us. He came through the bad times, produced his game and has now risen to the top. Please don't sell our best player. One thing to be thankful for is the energy in the coaching staff and having a good keeper. Two essential positions.

Is Vaulks on his last few months of his contract or has the club got the option to extend it for another year anybody know no sign of him extending his contract personally I think he will be gone in the next few weeks just hope we can get some money for him. Then its up to Warney and co to do some business for us. Once agents smell blood what chance is there of keeping a player.

Almost certain we will have an option to extend Vaulks contract otherwise we'd be looking to sell him in January. If we want to stop up need to keep Vaulks & Ajayi. Can you imagine whoever runs our transfer incomings if they got a few £million to spend in a short time. We've had 4 months to sort who we need. No sign of any signings.

I agree with Ian. Vaulks he's priceless for us. Him & Ajayi. Add Rodak Robertson Mattock Smith they are our stopping up players. Wiles could turn out to be. Palmer & Taylor can go this window. A midfielder & left winger needed for the Ipswich game that's assuming we have a right back good/fit enough. Next 2 league games in the must win category.

Vaulks is over 25 so we either offer him a new contract which he accepts or he becomes a free agent at the end of the season. Its only 24 or younger you have an option to extend on is my belief.
I agree with gwru and Ian that Vaulks would be very hard to replace. In another post, i stated he was the heartbeat of the team. I think it will be a case of us accepting an offer for him in the January window. Its just a matter of how much we find acceptable. My guess is we would snatch the hands off if an offer of £1.5m came in. Not enough for me but i am not in charge of the purse strings.
Enjoy the day today everybody.

whiston01 not sure on options to extend contracts age limits. But yd have thought in the case of Vaulks Roth U would have done it when he was 24 if you can't do it when he became 25. We aren't that naive we are going to let him go for nothing in the summer. Sure there's something in place or clubs interested in him would be offering next to nothing if he could go for nothing in the summer. Know it's 24 or under if a player comes out of contract you can get a fee for him if he's worth anything by going to a tribunal if the two clubs involved can't agree a fee.

Just been looking at players out of contract at all championship clubs. Tom Huddlestone Derby mentioned but says he's got an option to extend his contract in the summer, he's over 30 so Roth U have got to have an option on Vaulks so if anybody wants him will take a min' fee of £3 million to prise him away.

Warne has seen 2 potential recruits who both want to sign. It'll be a sad indictment on the off the field organisation of RUFC if we fail to pull off these transfers. In the meantime Ipswich have managed to bring in 4 new players already !!
