Does anybody read it. Warney apparently has said Palmer Jerry Yates Potter still or could have a future at the club. Not in the championship. I can't see them at the club even if we get relegated. Thoughts.
We have a very small squad and in one recent game we only managed five substitutes due to injuries. Potter is 34 in December and in my opinion would not be able to perform in the championship. Surely Warney is only saying he could have a future because he is the only defensive midfielder at the club as his favoured position. Not good enough for me and too old.
Jerry Yates, only 22 and did a job last season when Moore was suspended and before Smith was signed. I believe he is playing in a more midfield role for Carlisle but again he would struggle for me in the championship.
Matt Palmer, only 23 and played over 40 times for Burton in the championship. He looks lightweight to me and our style of play does not suit him. If we carry on with our current style i would try and move him on and recoup some of the money we paid for him. So to answer your question i don't see any of the three having a future with us in the championship. However, you have to find replacements before we move them on. Personally i would like to see Taylor and Palmer go for fees and we invest the cash in a strong midfield player and a striker. I see Ben Wiles as the box to box player in the Frecks mode in the very near future.
whiston01 agree with all that. When you look at our side at full strength apart from Right back & a left sided player who can support Smudger we are a decent lower to mid table championship side.
Forde Taylor Palmer can go in January for me. Need better. All players out on loan keep them there apart from Dom Ball but he won't come back to sit on the bench.
Agreed Dom Ball is the only one of our players whose loaned out who could do a job at this level? He can play Centre back, holding midfield even if needed Right back. Depends who stops. If Raggett stays would it be worth bringing him back?

I agree about Palmer. He is a good player who has it in him to improve. There is more to come from him. I disagree with gwru about Dominic Ball. He can't get a game in a league where decent league one players can look like stars. Apart from being an extra body in case of extreme emergency he wouldn't add a thing. I'd bring Ihiekwe back before Ball, and I'm not really advocating that either.

Ihiewke, are you having a laugh. Couldn't hack it in the play-offs, no chance in this league. Won't have Dom Ball back, sooner have Jones doing the talk but not the walk.
Writing is on the wall for Forde & Palmer. Once you don't even make the bench it's obvious you aren't in the managers plans. Taylor will be the next. All 3 can go. Wiles has moved in front of Palmer in the pecking order. Deserved.
Why do you have the need to repeat exactly the same thing day after day after day. Why not simply leave team selection to the guy who has had thirty more years in the professional game than you have had, and whose mate is currently the manager of the number one ranked international team on the planet, and who was being touted as the next Real Madrid manager.
Cause I'm hearing b*ll*cks like bring Ihiewke back or Palmer is a great player in the making.
Regards 30 years in the professional game. I've been a paid customer at Millmoor//New York stadium since 1965. Think I've earned the right to have an opinion.
Ihiekwe gets unwarranted stick for losing his bottle in an important game at the end of last season. Before that, he had been a stand-out CB and MOM on a couple of occasions. He's got the same potential as Ajayi imo and that nervousness in a key game is something that can be coached out of him. Not a lost cause by any means in my book and after his loan spell I expect him to return to us a better all-round player.
BTW, I wish I'd been a 'paid' customer since 1965. Unfortunately, I've had to pay to watch the Millers!

I'm not questioning your right to voice an opinion gwru. I'm questioning why you think that your opinion is more valid than that of warne. You seem to be convinced that watching a player for 15 minutes in a meaningless game you can evaluate their potential whereas Warne sees them every day. Bailey- King anyone?
Just for the record gwru I didn't say I would bring Ihiekwe back. In fact I said very clearly that I wasn't an advocate of doing that. I just said that I would rather have him back than Ball if I was pressed to choose one or the other. If you're going to accuse people of posting b******s please at least take the trouble to read their posts properly.
Everyone has the right to there opinion. In my opinion Dom Ball doesn't fit into the good human being criteria. Sorry if I caused offence. Regards Bailey-King he never got a chance. Will never know. Wiles & Hinds hope they get there's.
