Middlesbrough Teusday

Is it going to be one of those games to forget quickly hope we don't get a pasting. I saw them play on Friday night they were good but I have seen better Middlesbrough sides. It's just my opinion there don't seem to any outstanding teams in the Championship this season.

This not winning away in Championship since M k Dons has come to an end you never know in football.

Only way we'll compete there is playing our battlers. No half hearted players, we know who they are. Warney he's doing the best he can but on the OS he worries me sometimes If he thinks Jones is a good signing. Also how many times is he going to wheel Richard Wood out especially if Robertson is fit.

Be watching on the red button. Hope we put a side out to give them a game. Not expecting anything just don't want to see us over powered.

The gaps in this league are wider than you think. We shouldn't risk our key players in games like this it is a waste of time. The chances of us going their and winning or getting a point are very slim indeed, so why not try a different approach. Play the kids that are on the fringe of the first team and some second choice players and attack from the start. Make it clear to the team that it is their personal contribution and the way they fight for each other that will be used to judge them and not the result. We just may find a young kid that deserves to step up, there is nothing to lose when playing the top 8 away from home

Hinds don't think he's here so there's only Wiles out the young players on the fringe of the 1st team. Got to be professional apart from the fact Middlesbora aren't the footballing side they use to be. They will try to over power us. Warney said Vassell only had one day back at the club before Saturday hence the off day he had. Like to see Wiles with Vaulks & Towell in midfield. What have we got to lose.

Don't mind the side selected for tonight. Always wanted to see Ajayi with Robertson Centre backs.

I agree with it as well. It looks like he will play 4:2:3:1 similar to Saturday. I dont think he will go for 4:4:2 with vassell at the side of Smith because he sees it as giving too much space in the midfield. I expect a tough night with not many goals.

Goalless at half time. A good battling performance and a sitter missed by Williams. Shades of the game at Leeds. Will it be the same ending? How long before a bit of quality does for us? Or can we get a point or more at the league leaders? The tension's unbearable.

Amazing battling performance tonight and we deserved that point for our tenacity and concentration. Can't see us keeping Semi after January as he must be getting noticed by a whole host of Championship managers. If we had a finish we could have even nicked that.

Deserved pt. Vassell not in the game again. Newell in his place at Preston. Vyner alot better. I'm not right that often but I wasn't dissapointed with Ajayi & Robertson centre backs. UTM

Tremendous gutsy performance. So pleased that the players got a reward. I do think we are gradually improving. Well done all round.

Excellent team selection by PW - showed confidence in his players after some recent near misses. I'd stick with the same side on Saturday. I think Vassell imposes himself much more on the game than Newell and he is a big unit who is a handful for defences. I hope this is the start of a consistent run for Robertson who is the future for our central defence. Well done guys!!

Great and significant result. Building on solid consistent home displays and as I was hoping for the belief and quality spreading abroad. No fluke this. I believe I have been watching a real planned campaign with a thorough understanding of how to build on the right philosophy. I think we will now go into a period of getting a few more points here and there. The signs are there. Consistent. Improvement in most positions. Ability to switch the team. Good balance between parts of the pitch. Well done all for the professional and gifted approach to the game under the nah sayers.

Middlesborough we made them look ordinary. Vyner Robertson Wiles were the plusses on the night. Manning played better if only he had his shooting boots on. The usual suspects did there jobs. Know I'm sounding over critical but I was shouting for Vassell to be taken off early in the 2nd half. He was losing the ball. He's definitely not at home on the right. Preston might be a better game to play Newell.

Putting the debate about budget to one side, surely nobody can argue about the job that Warne is doing and the effort the players are putting in, and you can't really ask for more than that. He has had the courage to stick with a way of playing that is making us competitive and we look increasingly comfortable with it. At Birmingham we were poor, but in the other recent games we were unlucky not to get more than we did and you can see that we are playing better football and growing in confidence. It is still going to be a battle - we all know that - but the management team and players deserve massive credit for how they are going about the task. A fit Robertson next to the immense Ajayi looks like the way forwards, until someone offers several million for Ajayi in January which they surely will. Wiles is being brought through at the right pace. Vyner is replicating Emmanuel - getting there after a shaky start.  All good.

A strong performance from the millers. Warne sets us up to be difficult to play against when he has his near best squad to pick from. Vaulks, Towell and Manning are combative in the middle and Smith gives an outlet. The back four looked good and Rodak only had a couple of scares to deal with. Vassell made a great run to set up a sitter for Williams but again we failed to score. Williams was struggling at the start of the second half to get a grip of the attacks coming from the left. warne altered it and it made Vassell less effective playing on the right.
Middlesborough find scoring difficult, only scored sixteen goals in fourteen games, so i always felt it would be tight. Preston have scored nineteen in thirteen games but let them in at the other end. I expect Preston to score on Saturday so we have to improve on our finishing. If we do i think we will get at least a point.

what an outstanding result for us last night, well done to the players and Warne. I think adding Robertson into the back four and making Vaulks captain were a large factor. A win at Preston will really show we have a chance............TS have players lined up for 1st jan not 31st jan BACK YOUR MANAGER
