is so clique. Certain posters say can get away with posting about other sports. To me only football & horseracing are the peoples sports. Changed I know but I haven't. Enable won the Ark but can't wait for the NH to up a notch starting this Saturday at Chepstow. Richard Wood apparently was on radio de da on the Sheff W game. He's playing at being a miller, always been an owl. Stop in Sheffield for me.
Richard Wood playing at being a miller!! Wasn't he the one who scored two goals in the play off final and put his body on the line week after week to get us promoted and hasn't done bad in the championship either. Unbelievable statement
Shows what we've come to. A player who couldn't get in the side to start with, he's still here. Getting work experience for the future. Not bad is it, for the chosen few.
Wood grew up a Leeds supporter. He played for Wednesday for a few years. He is a bit past his best and has his limitations, but surely nobody would ever question his professionalism and commitment to the cause. I've seen more bandages on Wood's head than on any other Millers player I can remember. The fact that on a Sunday he did some match summarising on a Wednesday game doesn't bother me one little bit. In fact I imagine that Warney might have asked him to make a few notes on what they do at set pieces etc since we play them soon. Will Wood be trying less hard in training this week or less hard when we play Wednesday? Of course he won't. What exactly is the problem?
I'm not questioning Wood's professionalism or commitment. Know when he puts the Roth U shirt on again he'll give his all. It's just I'm from the Rotherham area. I don't want be associated in any way with the Sheffield clubs. If you are not from Rotherham area it won't matter but it does to me.
I couldn't be more passionate about Rotherham than I am, but I honestly couldn't care less that Wood did a bit of commentary on a Wednesday game on his day off. On the subject of horseracing, it's an absolute mugs game. I know a successful gambler who makes a more than good living out of betting and he has a golden rule - never bet on the dogs or the horses. I just don't see the attraction of it. Sorry.
Just because we as fans have an intense dislike for Wednesday born out of decades of animosity why should Woody? He used to play for them so a little bit of affinity to them is to be expected. He gives absolutely everything while he's on the pitch AND his off field activities regarding community & charitable activity makes him one hell of an ambassador for OUR club. There is absolutely no question to answer.
