Is Hinds fit? never hear about the fringe players. Just think he'd be a better option then Taylor or Forde on the bench. Hoping Newell is on the bench against Forest.
What makes you think Hinds who has hardly played in the first team a better option than Taylor or Forde. Never mind the fact he is on a months loan with Frickley. He might be ok as he matures and gets experience but surely not yet. Forde does a decent job and is solid.
Everybody likes to see young players come through and do well but relying on them in real games with meaningful points at stake before they are ready just damages them.
Hinds is indeed at Frickley which says something about where his development is. Wiles looked miles out of his depth at Everton although he clearly has some promise. Kayode has gone to Chesterfield where he will get games at a decent level.
These lads might turn out to be really good players, but why the rush to throw them in? Let the coaches who know them and work with them every day bring them on at the right pace. Where is Bailey King these days?
You tell me where Bailey-King is. Wiles had no chance with just Palmer in midfield, also Taylor & Forde on the wings. Hinds looked to have grown to me when he was on the bench against Wigan in the carabao cup. Forde isn't in the managers long term plans. Tried to loan him out, he's not even on the bench when we have a full squad. Taylor everytime he's started we've lost. Hull game we should have won but lost that with the starting 11.
Possibly Glenn. As far as I can see he's not playing football, that's for sure. I think he hails (!) from London He is listed as a former RUFC player. A loan spell at North Ferriby United where he couldn't get in the bottom of the table side seems to have been his last action. Its a shame, but the point is that T71 wanted him back from that loan spell and in the first team when in truth he was many, many miles short. Its a massive step up and sadly most can't get there. The ones that have a chance need handling with kid gloves. Suggesting Wiles and Hinds instead of experienced pros like Palmer or Forde in the battles that we face week in week out at the moment is madness.
You are correct Smiler in my opinion. Bailey King is 21 in a couple of weeks, released by us at the end of last season and no club came in to take him. His chance of cutting it appears to have gone. Look how Chelsea have handled Tammy Abraham, represented England at u18,u19,u21 and two caps at full international level(friendlies against Brazil and Germany). However, they see it best for his development to go out on loan to Bristol City,Swansea and now at Villa. He must be disappointed but his attitude is good and he has got on with it. Compare that to Dom Ball . He let everybody down at Peterbrough and is off again to Aberdeen. His attitude wasnt what Warne wanted and it wasnt long before he moved him out along with Broadfoot and Fisher who also didnt fit the blueprint.
Developing young players is what we have to do and hopefully one will come along and not only will they help in the first team but also make the club some big money when we sell them. Warne and his team know this, and lads like Wiles will benefit in the long term. They also appear to know when young lads are not up to it as well. Its a harsh game where not only talent gets you through. Right attitude, decent human beings and willingness to learn are just three of the many ingredients that make a good professional footballer. Playing them before they are ready is not the answer.
Last young player we had who looked liked making it was Brogan but a career ending injury did for him. Warney will know when they are ready but I always go on what I see. Hinds & Wiles last year against Chesterfield in the checkatrade stood out. Forde & Bray were playing. Bray did absolutely nothing. Forde just did what he always does, runs about but got no end product. Kayode came on might have been in an earlier game but looked nowhere near ready. Bailey-King only ever saw him play when he came on for the last game of the season when we were relegated. He was raw, think he was playing on the wrong side on the left but had some pace. He never got a chance. We stuck with Taylor & Forde who I've never rated since 1st time I saw them. Wiles would like to see him with Vaulks & Towell in midfield. He had no chance with just Palmer in midfield. Hinds looks like he's as I've said grown. Looked good to me on the left side. But Warney will keep bringing Taylor & Forde on, will be same result as it's always been. Won't change anything.

I kind of disagree, our season will be defined on home results. We only need to win 12 more to stay up, as long as those around us don't take points from us. We will be learning more and more as the season goes on, but ball retention, if you want that to be better you need to buy better mentally technical players. Anyone can pass, but to get 8-9 players to consistently be able to keep possession takes cash purely from their decisions and movement - that's what you buy. Yes Warney and Co. will do their best to coach this, but it will only go so far. The coaching you can teach the players / reflect etc until you're blue in the face, whether they can enact it during a game themselves is down to the player.
All we can ask as fans is that we're seeing the management and players all trying their best for themselves and the club, and I don't think we can ever argue against that since Warney has been able to bring in his own good human beings.
It will be tight but I think we have the grit to do it - I really do.
Agree about the home form, and the post generally... but in the end its very unlikely we will get relegated on goal difference.
Therefore, a change of tactics away from home doesn't do us any harm. We need to score some goals away from home.
The stats show in the Villa and the Wigan game - we had plenty of chances to score but didn't score any. It's only my opinion, but I'd rather see us play 3-5-2 a few times and play Proctor and encourage the midfield to play rather than kick the ball away... try and score some goals and pick up a few points - because in the end if we get beat 5-0 doing so, it doesn't matter as losing 1-0 gives us the same number of points - none.
Very happy with our season so far, but our away tactics are picking us zero points, so that has to change in my opinion, we have nothing to lose by trying something different. In our best spells last season, we didn’t play hoof ball, we played through teams. Whilst the opposition is better, I’d rather see us try it some times.
A further point is, the longer we go without getting any points away, the more this will add pressure - especially if we lose a few at home on the trot.. getting a few away points will keep the confidence up...
Just my thoughts.
Same issue today again.... no goals, we might as well lose 5-0 as 1-0... we need to find a new way of playing away....
