I'm baffled by the fact that lots of pundits are supporting the way she behaved in the US Open final. Her coach admitted he was coaching her from the stands. That's not allowed. The fact that 'everyone does it' isn't a defence. In any case, she only got a warning for that. The professional thing to do would be to move on from that quickly. She lost a point when she smashed her racket. The umpire has no discretion there. Its a mandatory penalty. She then lost a game after calling the umpire a thief and getting all 'don't you know who I am' on him and demanding an apology from him. What credibility would he have left if he didn't punish her for that? Basically she behaved like a spoilt diva and self destructed. Nobody's fault but her own. When's the football on again?
Lv Serena. She's earned to say do you know who I am. Woman's game not same without her but she can't go on forever. She's grasping at straws knows her days at the top are numbered. Got to at least equal Court, she was a miserable player won most of her titles before the open era. I can remember her. Football starts again next Saturday 3pm at the New York. Warney get it sorted!
Williams has been a great champion and good for the game, but as the old saying goes nobody is bigger than the game itself. When a player is telling an umpire in front of millions of viewers that he is a thief and a liar and demanding an apology from him its gone badly wrong. Only one person at fault there.

Umpire Carlos Ramos, not to be confused with the Spanish defender, known for his fearlessness in warning even top players, first called her for taking instructions from her coach Patrick Mouratoglou in the players’ box. Williams was just having a bad day. She wasn't even able to give her tutu a twirl after her defeat. Like the proverbial balls, she will bounce back.
