And let the two new CB form a relationship that should be well developed by now and isn't. Semi holding Midfielder....other changes - shuffling and a tactical rethink ! Agree

Vyner is targeted by Opposition coaches every game.

He gave their number 16 who was put out there for a reason the freedom of the town.

Even though our coaching staff were literally standing next to him they allowed Vyner to give him acres of space.

All Hull had to do and did was push the fullback up and free their number 16 to torment us down the left.

Surely Jones is better than Vyner

Old pals act started in the summer when we resigned Price. We need that holding midfield player, not Towell. A right back. Get one & tell Lee Johnson Vyner is not going to even be on the bench, take him back & loan him to a level he can play in. Ajayi & Robertson paired at centre back. Rodak; New RB Ajayi Robertson Mattock; Vaulks New DM Manning Newell; Smith Proctor. Bench Bilboe Jones Raggett Hinds Wiles Williams Vassell

Who else is there Wiles? Too young inexperienced & raw to throw in to the Championship IMO. AND we're skint

Uncle Tony did say in a televised interview after the Wembley win, that the club was now better prepared than the last time and that finance was in place for improvements, (which could mean a coat of paint in the lavvies). Thus far we have seen no evidence of either claims, which I find disappointing, even in a limited capacity. Small wonder then that people are already sharpening the knives. Having already shipped 10 goals, and only one clean sheet, its as plain as a pikestaff where the weaknesses are.

I'm not complaining too much at the mo, but yesterday was a huge disappointment.

Oops I meant Hinds not Wiles. If we're not skint the only possible reason for the lack of transfer activity is the general perception of the club which I suppose there's little we can do about but I still think we're broke.

Mattock ball watches and good players find it too easy to get in behind him. Purrington was no better though. I think its a weakness for us. Against Milwall I'd be in favour of Jones playing in place of Vyner. He had a night to forget against Hull. Millwall will come and play 442 with Morrison and Gregory up top. I would go 442 and match them up and get ready for a battle. I would start with Smith and Proctor who looks ready. Vassell on the bench to come on. Newell was different class when he came on,. He needs to do it consistently though instead of 20 minute cameos as a sub. I would start with Rodak,: Jones, Ajayi, Wood, Mattock: Williams, Manning, Vaulks, Newell: Smith, Proctor. For this particular game against this particular opposition I would keep Wood and Vaulks in because I don't think it will be one for the purist.

Millwall will be down in that bottom third of the league, however we do it we have got to take 3 points off them today, it doesn't have to be pretty. Don't get the 3 points today we'll have to get them unexpectedly somewhere else. Only 12 more wins and a handful of draws required to stay up.

Jones isn't fit. Vyner? Vaulks at right back for one game?

Rodak; Vaulks Robertson Wood Mattock; Williams Ajayi Wiles Manning Newell; Smith

Was going to say 3-5-2 but we've never played that, never will as it stands.

Finally got accepted on the site after several weeks of trying. Thanks to Chris for sorting it out. Some good posters on here. Is Mattock having it off with Derbymillers Mrs? Last season John breckin (possibly millers best ever left back) told me he thought Mattock was the best left back in the division and believed he would be comfortable in the championship. I will take Johns opinion over Derbys. As for today i think we will match them up with a 4:4:2 formation. Rodak, Vyner, Ajayi, wood, Mattock. Taylor Vaulks, Manning, Williams.Smith. Vassell. I personally would have Williams on the right and Newell on the left as i believe if they are to play it has to be in home games. I would also have Robertson ( natural left footer like Wood) at left centre back. It is hard for Warne to leave Wood out (captain, double scorer at Wembley) but i believe this game could be the time to do it.
I really like T71's posts even if i disagree with a lot of what hes saying. it adds to the site. Wiles is not yet ready but needs to be given some game time as he is the future. Purrington is a steady left back that lacks pace, Vaulks is an all action midfielder that lacks sutelty but would play in my team every game. Newell is our most gifted player but appears to lack self belief. Taylor is not for me but again tries hard. Forde who is much maligned was actually the joint highest player for assists last season (Newell the other). Its all about opinions and they are some of mine. Feel free to give me some stick as i have a very thick skin.

Whiston01 welcome. Think we on the same wavelength. Vaulks 1st name on the team sheet. Mattock until I see a better left back at the club it's his shirt. Hinds possibly. Agree about Taylor. Forde not even on the bench he'll be sent out on loan. Already said right back & defensive midfielder loan signings required.

Vaults only chance of playing regularly in the championship is right back, in midfield he is simply too slow, can’t get close enough to the ball to effect the game this season, shows great enthusiasm but not quick enough to compete.

Full backs are a problem for us Mattock needs to cut his overlapping runs down and concentrate on defending, Vyner gets the next six games to establish himself at right back, remember he played centre back last season ! I think he can do it, remember Emmanuel only
came good after January !

New winger needed either a proper flyer or a reliable winger like GARY Roberts, or the Shrews right winger.

One more centre midfielder required, someone in the class of Henry Lansbury not established himself at Villa yet but was a star at Forrest !
