Everton had several internationals in their starting eleven and players who cost about £85m. In case they needed them, they had a few more internationals on the bench who cost them about £90m. They were better than us. We battled gamely and it wasn't as easy for them as Bornamiller suggests (we were the better side for the first fifteen minutes, had a golden opportunity to go on 1-1 at half time and it was 2-1 with five minutes to go) but they were comfortably the better side. I would be astonished if anyone realistically expected anything different. There are people on MM saying things like 'I am disgusted with how we have started this season'. I've got to say the 2000 at Goodison seemed delighted with the performance last night, but there is undoubtedly a minority of fans who can't wait to go after Warne and Stewart. When we came up from League 2 we beat Aldershot to seal it. When we came up from League 1 it was Orient. They will be playing each other twice in the Conference this season. We are 14th in The Championship, in a fabulous stadium and about debt free after going through two administrations a few short years ago . I just don't know what it will take to satisfy some people.

For God's Sake - why the hell do they call you "smiler". We got the lad from Burton who didn't want him. Is your house full of second hand furniture and an do you have an old ( gets us from A to B ) car ? I'm sure that's NOT you and what you and your better half would be satisfied with - and good on you ! Our team is a ( this will do ) there isn't a Daimler / Rolls Royce in our squad. Although Green Lane car park is full of decent cars. Get out from your pulpit - religion was created to control the masses and to preach " the meek will inherit the earth" - Yeah Right.....Jess went to prepare a room for his followers - we'll I've just been on 'Trip Advisor' and there isn't one entry...lol Well I'll go straight to he'll for that one...lol Yet - I'm possibly the only poster with a "Christian" attitude to AS....lol....saved ! I'm sorry if you have a 3 wheeler - they are really fun to drive so enjoy...chill out man! PS - love NYS. And give to charity....quite a lot actually ovett years...happiness is subjective - I am ex statically happy you are happy. Long may this be....

Seriously LBJ, insofar as that post is capable of being understood in amongst the various typos, errors and garbled nonsense it is about the most ridiculous thing I have ever read.

I remember watching us at DVS as one of about 2,000 trying to decide who I would support when we went under.  Of course I always want us to improve, but there is nothing wrong with a bit of perspective.  We will never be Chelsea or Liverpool.  We will probably always struggle to beat Everton away from home.  We will always be a small town team that will lose plenty of football matches but have our moments in the sun.  At the moment, times are relatively good for us and I think we should be celebrating that and getting behind them rather than slamming them at every opportunity.  I think that is a fairly reasonable point to make on a message board.

Even if you disagree, I just don't understand your (frankly) weird diatribe in response.

Give it a rest Bornastirrer, you're like a nagging toothache. You are always entitled to your opinion, but to repeat it to infinity becomes very wearing. Let go of the past, as you have already stated it's history, and you have raked it over and over. It is easy to say what could have been, because you cannot be "incorrect" in any "assumption" as it will not happen/cannot take place. It is over, done with and ended.

Back to the present, and your assertion that because somebody doesn't want someone must mean he is useless holds no water at all, football history is full of rejects coming good at other clubs. Have you got a Rolls Royce on your drive? Probably not, because you most likely cannot afford one, so why would you expect one to be in the Millers' side? As a club, we need to manage within our financial means, and we will only be able to buy expensive players when we can get the relevant income stream to afford them. In the meantime we need to manage with what we can afford, and so far I am happy with the way Paul Warne is doing his job.

Rant over, I'm going back to my afternoon nap.

Don't believe in personal attacks as I don't / or ever have been drawn into gutter / schoolyard attempts to intimidate. Just wasting your time. Alas the player "not wanted" has shown emphatically why he wasn't wanted. The fact that I agree with Mr Clough - but not Mr Warne does not matter ( to me ) PW rates Yates so..... If he comes good great - but thus far he gets caught on the ball far too often - his spacial awareness is not championship standard and physically not strong enough - he's no speed merchant either. Wins few headers....but he's within budget. Nothing wrong with that - the budget controls everything about this club - as it should be! Money can't buy happiness or football success - but it don't arf elp! The guy is what he is. Do you rate him highly then ? All about opinions ....

I said this well before lbj. Burton even though at the time were a championship club & we were in league 1, N Clough I would say knows the time of day at the level both Burton & Roth U compete in didn't think Palmer was worth keeping. I haven't seen nothing in league games to change his decision. Not going to be cruel cause Palmer in his way will be putting the effort in but he's got no identity, nothing sets him apart in his play. Someone said about Wiles last night he's got a lot to learn. What chance did he have with just Palmer with him in midfield. We've only just found out way for us to play in the championship is to play 3 in the midfield.

Vaulks tries & fails I've heard said on this thread. Well if he's failing I want to know whose getting it right. Vaulks has been holding back in the tackle since he got those 2 bookings in the 1st two games but he's competitive getting forward, got two goals. Goalscorers from midfield are like gold to us.

PS: A little knowledge is dangerous ! But at least if you delve into such subjects you are someone who asks the "W" questions that a very high percentage of people do not - because apathy rules their life. The 5 - W's....most folk can't be arsed! But you already know that .

"The Collins English Dictionary also lists spacial as a variant of spatial, so does the Oxford Advanced. Spatial is then the prefered option and spacial an acceptable alternative" But thanks - I always accept corrections - learning all the time.

Wow reading Lbj comments any wonder people give up with the site? Surely the moderator can see he’s just on a wind up?
