If that's aimed at me told lad then you're a senile told lad! Please see the new threads that will be vilified beyond belief if anyone answers / agrees.... I've always respected everyones views on every site - anywhere - you apparently don't.....like I have always said education is a wonderful thing so READ MORE - POST LESS! I was a happy bunny at the Cardiff game - some half decent performances - but to have a complete bench full of better players than we had on the pitch today is beyond belief - Warne really thinks we're still in that crap league one - and it was crap! All you can post is an attack on another poster. Miller Mad Morons are going frantic too..... Attack someone who has responsibility for today - and that is none of the people posting their feelings tonight! Read and learn the faults of the passed - but you didn't get it then - so why should you now ! Gutted - naive really doesn't come close!

Give over, your revelling in this result, as though it confirms everything you are about. You love it.

You like putting words in my mouth and now you're reading my thoughts ! I dissociate my myself to anything and everything you say. Tactics today were a disaster and there was no defensive shape to combat one of the footballing teams. No one has spoken of obvious two banks of two with a disciplined defensive attitude ! That is our future in the championship BUT it's been tried before and fans screamed at it. Ignorance of football was fans failure then - at least let the fans learn that better teams than us play that game and even the then mighty Chelsea did it at Anfield. Naivety of non league football this. Step One: Just be hard to beat !

Whether you actually are or not I don't know, but you come across as an arrogant, unpleasant individual Born. Thats another well respected poster who isn't a fan of your style and who you've insulted. It took you five minutes into the new season to start trotting out the predictable 'told you so' posts, so don't be surprised if people get the impression that you just couldn't wait. My take on today is as follows. Warne gave the players who won for him at Wembley starts today. That may have been a mistake. We were outplayed in all departments by a very good side. The only positives in my view were occasional flashes of quality from Newell and Vassell did well when he came on. No doubt the players and the management got some food for thought. He can change personnel, but there are no magic answers. We lack the money that our competitors have several times over, and as a consequence we lack their quality. It is that simple. We can give ourselves a fighting chance by being solid, well organised and fit but over a long season quality inevitably counts. Today was only one game, and it was one we were always unlikely to get anything from. Take a deep breath, learn from it, and don't panic. For those who think we need to get new players in, that really is a statement of the obvious, but who we can get who is better than what we have and how to get them in on our budget is the challenge. It is so much easier said than done. Are we really going to start sniping at the players, manager and Chairman after one game? Really?

Yes you are Born. Yes you are. Either that or virtually every other person on here (and even on Mad) is wrong. What are the odds?

Warne quote Brentford are a possession based side and we asked them to play narrow but they kept switching the play and left us with one-on-one’s. They have got amazing players. “It was a rude awakening for myself included but we are not the only side who are going to get beat down here. Hand on heart all around the pitch they were better than us That to me speaks volumes about the lack of tactics and quality players on our part and the ability of having possesion of the ball been used relentlessly We was found out tactically and players Woods thanks for wembley but coaching should be your aim now Ajayi nneds a kick Vaulks needs to be sat down and told repeatedly you are not beckham stop the stupid 50 yd pass

"We were found out tactically" Nice guy mentality - allowing long term injured player to lead out at Wembley nice touch. Allowing the Wembley team to play at Brentford stupid. No matter how you approach the Brentford game and letting two half decent defenders go on loan when we should fill the team with defensive players is wrong. That squad should have been drilled into a defensive unit the SPARTANS would be proud of. And within two banks of four two more natural defenders would be very welcome indeed. I would squeeze them into a defensive unit somehow they are / were both good enough TO LEARN! But like last time PW had 60% of the season he's still trying to play expansive football. Absolute madness. And to play Wood and give him a long contract - decision making must be under scrutiny. Without tactical nouse the championship is a futile gesture.

For once Born, (if I understand you correctly) I agree with you. For me in this division the squad should be built around a good defensive unit. You talk about Wood and it is true his best days are behind him and I never knew why Mattock had his contract renewed last time and yet here they are found wanting again. Thats not criticising Wood or Mattock, far from it but they are not what we need in this division at the core of our defence.

Once again after the Wembley win TS was on telly talking about being more prepared for the Championship this time around and having the finance for investment in place, but we haven't as yet seen any evidence of this, unless you view yesterday as evidence of the opposite. I know it aint easy to entice players to Rotherham, but it must be easier now than when we were at Millmoor.

I'm not too worried at this stage, as Glenn says 'we're only 3 points off the top' but I hope it was a timely kick up the back side that they take heed of.

I do like the Spartans reference. That is exactly what we should be like, a goal keeper is only as good as his defence.

Beautifully said. I'm just watching D ( I have an attitude ) Ball - and he's been great thus far and we needed him - attitude or not. Warne is the Gaffa - he has instruments at his disposal to control any player. But to send two professional defensive players out when we needed to fill our boots. Said that Windass has just gone down like he's been shot after a touch from Ball - penalty - scored ( Tav's ). Ball played really well though so far. He's good enough to "develop". Quite pleased with our Blackpool purchases but why not play them. Playing devil's advocate here PERHAPS the management team knew we were going to be thumped so kept the new guys for Ipswich at home to SHOW CHANGE and give the new players a winning start. Now that is wishful thinking - but at least it's "thinking". Up the Millers.

Seems plausible keeping the 'new guys for Ipswich at home'. The honeymoon period is now coming to an end for some of our players who had their time in the sun at Wembley.

But I still think that it's great to be back in the Championship. There's a helluva long way to go, much to learn and enough time to produce a winning formula.

Come on you Reds!!!!!

Wasnt too far off with my prediction - we cant afford to let 10 games go before acting UNLESS we are going to be told we have spent what we can, then we should all relax and enjoy the ride back down. I just get annoyed at the pretence that we are just looking for the right striker/CB/CM. Didnt get Towell back which was telling.

I'll not quote the stats but I expected similar stats at Brentford as Bolton had at WBA. An experienced manager at Bolton set up ( as we should have ) to grind out a point. And Bolton came away with 3 points with 28 % of possession. There - I quoted the %. Nonsense to some but I can't see how such a set up can be ignored as nonsense. It's all about set up / shape / discipline / coaching / management nouse!
