I don't pretend to know what's gone on but I suspect it's something to do with Towell being PW's prime target and Yates being the back-up plan. Also, the number of loanees would no doubt have been a factor - if the loan deal stipulates that the player must play then PW might have figured he couldn't accommodate another loanee with those conditions. Finally, money was inevitably a factor.
This deal may have been dependent on someone going out on loan Forde and Ball were going but for whatever reason Forde did not and the Ball deal to Bradford went through so late it is now subject to EFL approval

different types of player so that was a work of genius. Also we were after 2 players, then suddenly it is 1. We are doing everything we can to achieve relegation
We got two midfield players on loan, Manning & Towell. We still haven't got a defensive midfield player. Also as I said we needed a Right back who could cover CB. To me we haven't got a Right back whose good enough. That's why I've said see if Forde can play there. If that fails Vaulks will have to play there till January.
