It helps to underpin your football credentials on these sites if you insult folk properly.
Certainly shopping at pound land for players with "potential". Sheffield U are bringing in young Premiership lads on loan who should be sharp and an asset to the club. I was afraid this source of player power wouldn't be open to us but I was hoping. It appears ( thus far ) the big boys don't particularly see our management team as appropriate custodians of their young gems. Izzy was out the door like #$#$ off a shovel - and we're bringing in league 2 midfielders into the championship - but apparently he looks like Freck's - so he'll be fine.
They looked sharp though v Cardiff and confidence is high - we need some early points to bolster belief. 11 v 11 but the championship is exceptionally tough and strength in depth is crucial....so why send utility players out now.....?
'It appears ( thus far ) the big boys don't particularly see our management team as appropriate custodians of their young gems'.
We all know you don't like Warne, but what evidence have you actually got for that assertion? Perhaps Warne doesn't want to go down that route. Has that occurred to you? We were paying half of Izzy Brown's wages last time we were in this league and he was still costing us more a week than any other player at the club. He had a bit of class but he also disappeared from games for long periods and I think if you did a poll of Millers about how they rated him you would get a mixed reaction.
Players like that are untried and untested, and represent expensive gambles. They are on big money already at their parent clubs.
Your 'shopping at Poundland' jibe is well rehearsed. Where do you suggest we get the money from to shop at Harrods? Quick Quid?
Just a reminder that last season Wilder brought Leonard (Southend) Lundstram (Oxford) and Holmes (Charlton) into his Championship midfield from League One. Dom Ball by the way (back to original thread) is on the bench for Aberdeen at Burnley tonight.
"Perhaps Warne doesn't want to go down that route". No manager turns down class young legs - Sheffield United are filling their boots - but yes based on wages it might be out of the question?
BUT....I have my fingers crossed that we might get a young gun in....
