Cross of St George or Union Jack? Yes, I know the Cross of St George is supposed to be the England flag but in some areas people can be very touchy about it. Especially if England wins.
I'll be mostly flying the Cross of St George flag. It's quite large and needs a lot of wind to see it in all its glory.

As thenational flag of England, the St George's cross is also used in English nationalism in conscious distinction from the Union Flag.
The flag used to represent Yorkshire is a White Rose of York on a blue background. The design dates from the 1960s. The flag was registered by the Flag Institute on 29 July 2008 at the request of the Yorkshire Ridings Society.
I don't believe in flags and flag waving, it causes tribalism and division which ends up in fisticuffs and often much worse, particularly on a national scale but thats another debate.
Richard the Lionheart had the best idea. He and his men didn't fly the Cross of St George flag they had the motif ironed on to their tee-shirts and wore them under their cloaks. There was still some fisticuffs and quite a few fatalities when Richard went off on one of his lads' away days. It wasn't the tee-shirts which led to the fatalities it was the irons which they threw away at the enemy after they had finished with them.
I am all for the George Cross, but we dont need ENGLAND emblazoning on the front to know its our flag!!!!! RANT OVER
It not only makes George Cross but a lot of other folk too. When she was not amused I'll bet we would see Victoria Cross also. When Richard I was around it wasn't a good idea to make his Military Cross either. Those lads with the flat irons were a sight to behold.
A very light breeze today means I will have to take my flag down from the roof and attach some wire supports. Hope the England team are livelier than my flag.
For all the flag flyers out there..... Quote from the Argus...
'The Cross of St George will fly over 10 Downing Street for each of England’s remaining World Cup matches and for next year’s women’s tournament, Theresa May has said.
The Prime Minister told MPs she will be encouraging other departments across Whitehall to adopt the practice for the team’s remaining clashes in Russia.'
Flying the England flag from the rooftops is catching on.
