It doesn't give any definite details but we can be reassured that PW hasn't forgotten that we need a few players in before the new season starts. Personally, I much prefer this approach to transfers than the constant gossip that accompanied potential signings under previous regimes. Looks like the weekend could bring us some interesting news.
I was 1st one to mention Clark Robertson on here. Got another rumour for you. Zak Vyner Right back from Bristol city. Played well for Plymouth on loan last season. Seasons Loan?
Zak Vyner has signed a new contract at Bristol City.
The 21-year-old defender is now tied to Ashton Gate until 2021, having previously come through the Robins ' academy.
That doesn't stop Bristol City loaning him out for a season. A step up from league 1 last season.
Not sure about getting Towell back. We need a Smallwood/Potter type player in midfield but more to their game & with some miles left on the clock. Got Wiles coming through, don't want to hold back his progress. Every chance he could make the grade next season.

Reading Warney wants four more in. Rodak, Ryan Yates mentioned. Go with that. No way do we want Price back, he was a liability when he was here. Get Dom Ball back, he's our player. Dwane Holmes & Kieffer More or Marquis to complete the signings. Surely we've got to spend some money on fees.
Don't leave ourselves short up front. At the moment we're hoping Smith & Vassell are good enough. Yates isn't, don't think Ball is ever. Need a championship quality striker in. Same at Centre back we have Robertson Ajayi then Wood last hope. Ihiewke not good enough.
Back to RUFC. Do you think loans from the same league work? You'll end up getting loans to cover loans when they can't play! Don't mind Vyner but you must know what I mean.
I thought we might have signed a couple more by now, especially to get the new boys together in Austria trip.... I'm assuming a couple have not come off as we hoped....
Don't you know how football works Glenn? If you sign a player on loan from a club in the same division, you have to sign another to sit on the bench for 44 games as cover for two games.
That's how it works. Allegedly.
It's done now Vyner could be taken back like Kieffer Moore in January. He won't be able to play against his parent club. We've got to get cover at Right back but Vyner has got the size to be a Centre back. Depends how Warney sees it but we're not going to sign someone just to play 2 games a season. Utility player ideally needed whose good enough.
I don't like the idea of loans between clubs in the same division. Not because of the daft argument that he has to miss two games a year. Most players miss more games than that each season through injury or suspension. That doesn't matter and doesn't bother me a bit. The issue for me is that with a few games to go we could be competing with the parent club for either a promotion place or a relegation place. To take it to an extreme conclusion, what does a player do if on the last game helping his loan club to win would relegate the club he is registered with and who he is about to return to? Surely he is conflicted. For me loans in the same division just doesn't sit well.
It's a good point Smiler, but I don't think there are many footballers around who would sabotage their loan club's chances in favour of their parent club. The majority of footballers are interested only in themselves and I suggest they would play in a manner which would best increase their own image and value? (PS. Of course, this doesn't apply to any of Warnie's boys who all selflessly represent the club without a thought for their own image!)
