Leeds are just a laughing stock as far as management appointments are concerned. Goodness knows how much they've paid out in early termination of contract payments! Please Warnie, don't even think about it!
Think they may have revolving doors at Elland. Road. Must say it's a nice little earner if the Inc.umbent gets their outstanding contract fully paid up after a short stay at the club. Heckingbottom is still a very decent fella and one of his signings, when he was at Oakwell, is still a very good footballer.

How can you have any sympathy for someone who deserted the club who gave him a chance & will come away with a payout which will be like us getting a share of the lotto. The smarmy Lee Johnson was the same went were he thought the grass was greener. He could fail next season that would be recompense.
I've not seen anyone say that they have any sympathy with him. Neither do I feel sorry for Barnsley - the same Barnsley who poached Robins away from us and just sacked their own manager who had been at Oakwell for a slightly shorter period than Hecky was at Leeds and who (like Hecky) had to do the best he could with someone else's players.
I have heard a rumour that Leeds write 'break clauses' into contracts that enable them to sack a manager at certain points in time without having to pay much in compo. Not sure whether that is true or not. If it is he might not get a big pay out. He will have been well paid while he was there.
You can't blame managers for taking the money and moving on while their stock is high - no manager is more than ten games away from the sack wherever they are. Even boards who want to stick by struggling managers come under extreme pressure from supporters who all expect their teams to win more than they lose and play pleasing-on-the-eye football every week. We are as bad as anyone else in that respect. Look at Everton and West Ham. They brought managers in when they were in desperate trouble and both led them to what was in the end comfortable safety, and they have both gone too.
Whether it is legally allowed or not I am not sure (maybe it will be post-Brexit and if so it may be the only good thing to come of Brexit - sorry that comment should be on the other side of the Board) but the football authorities should bring in a rule that doesn't allow clubs to recruit a manager from outside the club from season start to season end. At least then most managers would get one full season to make an impact.
Mmm! Interesting comments thus far. What would Warney do if Leeds United offered him a two years' contract which was quadruple his current salary? Tough decisions would have to be made.
Having said that I've heard that Barnsley are looking to bring in a coach/manager from South America.

Think Warney knows his limitations. Could he work for a better chairman than Tony Stewart. Look at the likes of Redfearn & Stubbs, before them Andy Scott. Basically they are on the scrapheap. Can't see them managing at any club with ambitions again. You can soon be forgotten when you've been sacked by a club by being incompetent.
Can't think of any other chairman that would have kept Warney on as manager after a season when we down in November. Damage was done by Stubbs but still it was soul destroying for the fans. But Tony Stewart hasn't got were he is for not making the right decisions. Also think the chairman got fed up with managers not having Roth U in there blood. Robins & Warnock didn't. Not knocking Warnock for what he did for us but stage he'd got in his career we couldn't match his ambitions.
No loyalty in football as they say. I guess apart from some chairman and the fans everyone else is less attached and by virtue of the fans and chairman always the most vulnerable. However, they get paid very well and also they put themselves there as do we all when we say yes and no to opportunities.
The thing I feel however is that Heckingbottom is a good example of short-termism. He aligned himself (no one made him) with the club and identified strongly with the fans and did very well. While he was on a crest-certainly anyone with good sense would have the ability to read the rune stones-he should have stayed. Guaranteed another contract and developed the team that at that time looked a very safe bet for survival.
So, for me, he was disloyal, badly advised and in the same position (as we all tend to run our own rule over things as they happen) I would have stayed with Barnsley and I think for all the reasons others have commented on. Leeds, are not a club to be involved with in this time in their illustrious history. I would apply logic and go with the short odds and for me that was with a longer career, more money perhaps over the duration and the ability (proven) to build the team for a few seasons before the chute folds.

You've only got to look at the current situation down at Chelsea with their manager, Conte, the owner Abramovich and the latter's lack of a visa to continue living in the UK. If there is no further investment in Chelsea, will Conte want to continue as manager anyway? I think there will be the inevitable parting of the ways.

Conte rate him. I'm not a massive fan of Pep or Clipperty. Jose has lost it. On a level playing field I'd have Conte in front of any of them.
The whole system is a disgrace. 3yrs should mean 3 years and that goes for players too. If at signing you're deemed to fit, be the right candidate etc, why on earth should that change just 6 months in? - those signing should be without doubt that they will be in that capacity for the duration of the contract albiet serious breaches. The game will be better for it, most managers will do well given time I think Warney is proof of that, got rid of what largely he inherited and brought in his own, judge me on my own team he said last season. Well lets judge, and say what a flipping awesome job he and his staff have done!
The short term culture is down to agents, who we all know are the cancer of the game and post brexit should be made illegal. If a player / coach etc wants a contract reading it should be done on their expense by independent law people. The world is connected enough, they don't need them to generate contacts or find post contract work. We drones have to do it, so why shouldn't they?
Suppose Warnio is laughing at them all. Heckingbottom sacked and SE and Kenny J desperate to be where he is. He's laughing at me too because i swore blind the fitness coach couldn't manage the team 😁

Interesting that Leeds United have now landed Argentinian, Marcelo Bielsa as their latest head coach and not Barnsley. Deals can change rapidly in football.
