Kieffer and Palmer. Who'd have believed that one would be playing Championship football next season and one would be plying his trade in League One? Well, possibly everyone but possibly not in the correct order!

I dont really like it when I feel a bit mean. However, Barnsley seriously did one on us several times over signings. They are a bigger and wealthier club.

It is with that tinge of a grin that I consider your thoughts GM.

Both KM and Palmer could make our sort of squads.

I doubt we can afford KM and they would not sell him back to us anyroad.

Im in the minority with Palmer. It rests on his development. I he can add more presence to his game and get one or 2 basic improved on then I think he has a chance. Mind you ,we have said this about so many players just on the cusp of making that transition (JCH and what seems like 20-30 players during Evens time here).

You gotta be realistic too and make sure we get great loans. Those first 2 seasons in the championship relied on some quality loanees .

Why would we even want to consider buying back K.Moore.Michael Smith is a far better player and I can see being a right handfull in the Championship, whereas K.M. would be more at home in league 1.I think it was a good plan to drop Palmer yesterday against a really physical side.Next year I think we shall see a very good player.

I struck up a conversation with Kieffer Moore just after he left us. Without going into too much detail, I just wished him well after telling him that Heckingbottom was a decent bloke to work for. Not long afterwards the Barnsley FC manager, Heckingbottom moved on to Leeds United. Heckingbottom is still a decent bloke. Kieffer Moore is still a very good footballer.

I'd have KM back in a heartbeat - he's a goal scorer and a big part of our success, when Proctor went out for the season it was KM that stepped up and proved what a class player he is. Smugder is ok but he doesn't score enough - hes like Revel good at bringing others in but you need him to bang a few in too. He doesn't look like a championship striker.

We definitely need to strengthen up front. Even this season we were down to the bare bones. It is a good job that Smith stayed fit. Proctor will be like a new signing but I don't think we can bank on him staying fit or being 100% the player he was. Hopefully he will be but often with such a serious injury it isn't the case.

Here's a thought. Now that Cardiff are in the Premier League is Danny Ward ever going to get a game for them? He didn't play much for them last season. Could we buy him back , or would Neil help us out by loaning him back to us, and if so would that be a good move for us?

Not sure about playing two very similar players up front but one thing that would be worth seeing is those two attacking Newell's corners and free-kicks!!

I thought the dead ball's sent into the Shrewsbury box on Sunday caused absolute havoc, crossed in at pace, bending, dipping, deadly!!!

true they would be similar but it would give their central defenders an issue because they couldn't both mark either one

Good call. You are right. The wide play was very good at wembley. Their otherwise strong  and much vaunted defence looked very shake indeed.

Real shame about both proctor and danny getting so badly injured.

Good call regarding NW.

If NW is given time at Cardiff maybe we can get a couple from him I'm sure. He seems that sort of bloke.

I'd take KM back but I'm almost certain they won't let us have him.besides we probably can't beat their wages or get near their asking price.

Smith has been hugely effective for us.

He certainly held the spine together and was rarely put out of the game by any defenders. I think he is actually underrated.

Just after he had signed for Barnsley, Kieffer Moore was quoted in a newspaper article as saying that he may be return to the Millers one day.

Swap Moore for Palmer with bulk of the fee going to Barnsley. We'd snatch there hands off surely.

Please get off Palmer's back. He will be the midfield engine around which Rotherham will be either effective or not in the Championship. Petty snipes by ill informed attention seekers helps no one and does nothing for your credibility.

glenn i totally agree with you  palmer will be ur midfield engine and the repetitive negative quotes are boring and frankly ridiculous.

everyone has an opinion i accept that

but t71 like your pointless jch post which was tedious the palmer negative post are boring

you do post some good comments like about dom ball and the other young players who need first team action

Not ill informed or an attention seeker. Palmer has got to step up considerably from what he has shown. Doesn't look to have an engine to me. All this I can play better in the championship than league 1 is a load of b*ll*cks. Warney picked his best two midfield players at Wembley. 1'st major signing this season is to extend & improve Vaulks contract. He was outstanding at Wembley, that's who we build the midfield round. Towell wasn't far behind him would lv him back.

I agree got it wrong about JCH but Palmer I just can't see a player there. Hope I'm right about Bailey-King & Wiles. We need some of our own players coming through. We haven't got the budget to buy a championship side that aren't going to fighting relegation every season.

I disagree and consider that you're wrong again. You do discredit to our manager - Warne did not drop Palmer for the final nor did he select his two best midfield players for the final - he DID select the team that he thought would perform better against the type of side that Shrewsbury are. PW has built a squad based on passion, loyalty, fitness and quality (previously known to you as mates, cone or tea boys) and has been able to shift them around to counter the strengths of the opposition. Palmer is but one cog in that machine and he will play his role in the Championship when our manager (who certainly sees a player in there) considers it appropriate.

And that is the point isn't it Glenn? Warne picked the best team to win that particular match. We strangled them to death at their ground playing 442, hitting channels, playing in their half and Warney went with the same again. That is to be applauded. On a different day against a different team we might have set up to play a different way and any or all of Williams, Forde or Palmer might have started. In fact against S****horpe away Williams and Palmer did, and to good effect. The quality options that we had and the managerial team's astuteness in how to deploy them was key in the end.

Look at the Shrewsbury posters and they attribute their lacklustre performance in part (to be fair they give us a lot of credit for playing well) to the fact that they relied on the same 11 doing the same things and playing the same way week in week out, which made them (1) tired over a long season and (2) a bit predictable. We didn't look either of those two things.

T71 - if I promise you that I will donate £100 to Bluebell Wood immediately that Darnelle Bailey-King plays in another first team league game for us, will you undertake not to mention him again between now and then? My money will be safe and it will save us all the trouble of having to hear about the lad, who to the best of my knowledge doesn't even train with us any more. If I am wrong, the Hospice wins. How about it?

I won't mention Bailey-King again until if & when he puts a Millers 1st team shirt on, promise.

Would like to see what Dom Ball can do in pre-season & Wiles see if he's come on.
