Now that the tickets are in the bag, the hotel's booked, car parking's sorted and the pre-match pub arranged, there's only one more thing to resolve - what's the team going to be?!
I'm glad I'm not picking the side because there are so many factors to consider - form, suitability, tactics and ability to perform under the spotlight. Warne has probably got little idea of the latter but he's right across the other issues. I reckon he will have the team that won at Shrewsbury in mind, where we played 4-4-2, but he will be wondering if he can afford to play both Iheikwe and Ball who haven't looked that sharp of late. His other head scratcher will be can he afford to play both Palmer and Towell in midfield.
I'll stick my neck out and go with:
Rodak
Emmanuel
Wood
Vaulks
Mattock
Towell
Palmer
Forde
Newell
Williams
Smith
I'd like to see Williams given a free role up front alongside Smith, with Newell and Forde providing quality balls in from the left and right wings. Towell and Palmer to control midfield and Vaulks to shore up the back four alongside Wood would give me more confidence that Semi or Ickky.
Interesting team selection T71. You say we can't go with Towell and Palmer in midfield, so you've gone with Towell and Palmer in midfield. That will definitely confuse Hursty!
the team that beat them would be obviously tempting but things have changed. Form has come and gone and players have forged new links.
Rodak Emmanuel Ajayi Wood Mattock vaulks Palmer Towell Newell williams Smith
in short Im going with consistency . I would personally have dropped Mattock before the play off semi but he did enough to keep his place.
Rodak is easily the most improved player.
Emmanuel has got better and better and is irreplaceable with his strength going forward.
wood really helps with morale and plays well under pressure.
mattock is experienced but can get caught out.
vaulks is very consistent now an his commitment up their with how frecks was.
Palmer I like , or want to like . I first thought his intelligence would be his number one quality. Then I noticed his crisp passing especially to the edge of the box. Then , when that seemed to not always be on he has shown he can be up for a battle in midfield. However, he hasnt quite yet done it for me but Im not confident enough to put forde or taylor in. And , I think he has to have a chance because he shows such exceptional promise.
Towell is probably our most influential player. he starts for me everytime.
Newell on form is also a must include and to have such a talented left footer at this level is very helpful.
Williams is a risk but he also brings great energy.
Smith has been a revelation and easily compares with whoever that scallwag was that went to who knows where.

Rodak
Emanuel Wood Ajayi Mattock
Williams Vaulks Palmer Towell Newell
Smith
60 mins- Williams for Ball and 442 if 0-0 or behind
75 mins- Newell for Taylor
Semi to score, Millers 2-0.

Meant only Towell & Palmer in midfield, wouldn't work. Don't think Wembley's larger pitch dimensions would suit Taylor as a winger, put him up front with Smith could. Side think Warney will go with is Rodak Emmanuel Ajayi Wood Mattock Williams Vaulks Palmer Towell Newell Smith
The big pitch and the heat are going to play a big part on Sunday. Hopefully, our fitness focused manager will give us the edge!
Wembley pitch size is 105 metres x 68 metres. New York Stadium is 110 metres x 72 metres. And the myth about the pitch being energy sapping dates back to the 60's, when players used to go down like flies with cramp, no longer applies. The pitch, in common with every Premier League ground, and the Blades and pigs is a Desso Grassmaster hybrid surface. Long gone are the days when the pitch had to be relaid several times per season.

A very fair point TC. I fell into the trap myself suggesting that Taylor might exploit the 'big pitch' with his pace at some point.
There might still be something about the occasion that takes it out of the players, and of course extra time is a distinct possibility, and 25 degree temperatures are forecast, so fitness and astute use of subs could still be major factors.
Good facts and fair points though cheers.

I'm going with an hint of caution but with the old adage goals win matches. Palmer hasn't claimed the shirt yet so would play Forde on the right to give us some cover. Up front would go with Taylor whose not a winger but a goalscorer to partner Smith. Ball has lost his way. Lavery not sure about. Williams flatters to deceive.
I prefer the adage that as a rule you don't play people out of position. Taylor has never started a game up front for us to my recollection - he has always played as a wide player. Lavery and Ball are both forward players who play (in different ways) off a striker. Ball may have lost his goal touch, but he can still be a big player for us. If Warne decides to play two up front it will be Smith and Ball - I am sure of that.
My suspicion is that he will stick to the 451 and game plan that served us well against Scunny, with the two wide men and Towell supporting Smith as much as they can.
Unless we need to chase the game, this isn't the time to experiment.
