interestingly shrewsbury have just asked for and got about a thousand tickets to sell at their ground for those who dont do online...There are some seriously murky back waters in Shropshire.
I don't like the way the tickets are sold. Despite being told that we have specific allocated sectors, we have to wait while Wembley fills sectors before releasing tickets for others. The ones that I'm looking to buy haven't become available yet and if sales don't continue at pace, they may not become available at all. Hence I'm debating what the cut off date is before receiving them by post becomes risky.
It's just another example of the genuine football supporter being manipulated to suit the commercial desires of those that control football. I'm sure Wembley have an agreement with Sky to fill areas which look good for the cameras, rather than having empty seats which might suggest that a Sky 'event' is not that popular.
And while I'm on a rant, a £2.40 admin charge on each ticket, £2.25 for first class postage (as opposed to print your own), a 13p per minute premium line to book tickets over the phone (and you're placed in a queue for who knows how long when you call it) - the whole affair is a license to print money.
The final inequity, although 9 of us from 3 generations of the same family are going, with 2 being below the age of 10, we do not qualify as a family for the purposes of the Family Area. To be a Wembley family, you're only allowed 2 adults to each child. Can I claim familism as a form of discrimination?!
I don't disagree with your rant in any way Glenn. Even if they have released the block you want you are given a row which may be too near the front or the back (depending what you want). I tried to book via phone to get round that issue, but the marvellously efficient people at SEE Tickets hadn't picked up after 25 minutes. Alls well that ends well because our ratio of 2 children and four adults got us into Block 140 - the family area - about where we wanted to be. But it was a frustrating experience. The prices and charges are a scandal. But they know we will play along, don't they?

Sounds like a tall story to me. Mind you some people aren't that IT savvy in some rural areas where there's a high incidence of cross pollination and genetically modified food farming. That's one excuse. The other is that they are very shrewd and not as daft as us who are prepared to jump through hoops to obtain tickets. 😂

Ok, now I'm a little concerned. I booked on-line for 12 tickets (only two minors in the party) for Block 140. It went through fine (I think?), the money has been paid via Pay-pal and transaction approved invoice was received.
As Glenn says, I wanted Block 143 or 142 but, these were not offered, I only noticed Block 140 was a family block after I had completed the booking.
Not too sure I haven't dropped a clanger and will received a letter Saturday morning saying I have not got any tickets!!!!
Family area – Wembley Stadium have designated approximately 1,123 seats (Blocks 137 to 140 in the West Side) as a Family Area for Rotherham United supporters. Tickets in this area are only available to fans that are purchasing 16 and under tickets at a ratio of no more than 2 adults for 1 child, at a maximum of 2 children for every adult ticket.
I would have thought if they have taken your money and processed your order you will be fine, but like you I would definitely be phoning up to check just in case.
The whole ticket handling process is a fiasco. The fact that Shrewsbury have been sent some to sell at the ground makes a mockery of it.
