Don't think much more needs to be said other than confirmation of what we've been saying all season long.

Defensive errors costing goals, pleased with the draw but disappointing having got in front twice.  Was a very bitey game that we didn't allow to flow.  I suppose we'd have taken a draw before Kick Off?

Do we need to approach it any differently at NY? - they will be very dangerous on the counter, I think our bigger pitch will be help our build up play but also give them more counter opportunities.  Gonna be a very interesting game!

If we could defend the tie would be over already. Ihekwe is a liability & Mattock was all over the place. Palmer was **** poor but saying all that I'd have taken the draw at the start.

Team for Wednesday
Rodak
Emmanuel
Purrington
Wood
Ihiekwe
Newell
Ajayi
Vaulks
Towell
Ball
Smith
Subs;
Price, Mattock, Yates, Taylor, Yates, Palmer, Forde

It must have been in warnes head to drop mattock as we have looked more balanced without him.

We all know where we are at and today is precisely in line with that.

Second game at home should be just enough.

I agree Hillborough.

1st of all, I would have taken a draw before kick-off.

But at 1-2 with 5 mins to go, they looked beat.... we need a draw to go to Wembley at that point, so in that respect it could have been better.

For me... Mattock, in the first half, returned to the Mattock we saw in first half of the season (and all last season), caught out of position many times, which puts pressure on the other back 3. He was at fault for their 1st goal.

So - for me, 1st change for Wednesday is Purrington for Mattock.

2nd change for me is Semi for Dave... Dave looked nervy and out of confidence after his mistake with not clearing the ball off the line for their 1st goal.

Final change I would make is Newell starts in place of either Williams or Taylor.

Other than that... for Warne to tell his players to play football not hoof ball - I genuinely think we are a better footballing side than Scunny - we need to play to our strengths and not get drawn into a pinball league 2 game...

I still fancy us and will shout my voice until it's gone on Wednesday.

UTM!!!

The NYS will certainly help us play football - but then again every team enjoys NYS pitch.

Just so poor all over the pitch....with chances we should have lost again!

There's a lot of negativity after the first leg - don't really understand why. Scunny, in front of their home crowd were bound to come at us hard - and they did. Without playing our best football, we went ahead twice and were unfortunate not to come away with a win. NYS will be a totally different proposition and we will be favourites with a full house behind us, hopefully. There were empty seats and standing areas amongst the S****horpe fans which is really disappointing considering what was at stake.

The only changes I would make for Wednesday is to start with Newell and Forde. The one thing we were crying out for today was a decent cross, either from open play or from a set piece. I'm afraid Taylor just doesn't have that ability and his crosses spend so long in the air that anyone has the opportunity to get under them. Ikky had an off day, but he's been good of late and deserves to start on Wednesday ahead of Ajayi.

For the record, the Balti pie that hit Joe Newell after he scored also hit me in the left ear as it dispersed on its way through the air. I was sure it was a curry pie but Joe reckons he's a pie expert and was convinced it was Balti, so I'll bow to his superior pie knowledge!

Onwards and upwards!!

Well for me - that performance was as dull as dishwatter and that's Warnsey's team :

Motivation should be sky high.

The team should be playing Warnsey's way.

Individuals should be performing better now than at any time during the season ( fitness and game time )

So - that was as bad as it gets for any professional team to play. "Championship" an absolute joke. And everyone thinks Warnsey is a superstar well that performance was a PW performance.....teacher....MUST DO BETTER !

I wouldn't say it was dull as dish water, the narrow pitch squeezed everything in and made it very bitey. Stoppages all over the place, we don't want that, we play best in a free flowing game pinging the passes around. So for that I'm thankful we've come away with a draw, but having gone in front twice in such a mess of a game, I just hope it doesn't come back to bite us. Those front 4 of Scunny will cause us problems countering if we don't watch that, at home we're liable to get on the front foot. I know why Taylor was included and to be fair it worked, that bit of extra pace alongside Smith isolated in that away formation but other than that and running round like a loony he doesn't contribute too much - I don't think Wed will be the right situation for him. Why on earth Palmer doesn't take the set pieces is beyond me - Taylor should stay off them, and if the game is gonna go down to set pieces then surely Forde should have been on? - who has to be included on Wed, his corners are devastating. I'd also include Purrington we need pace in that back line and if there's only Wood lacking in that then it goes along way stopping the pace and counter possibility they can threaten to do.

Not too disheartened I shouldn't be surprised that we've made things harder for ourselves with defensive lapses, it's been there all season long, but we have more than enough in the locker to out score Scunny on Wed.

I'm not sure about the negativity. We'd have all taken the draw before the game and even though I don't think we were at our top level today we did enough to win the game. 442 at home Wednesday and really get at them, young lad potentially in goal for them let's see how he copes with smith in the box instead of chasing lost causes. All to play for. Utm

I suggest you have totally unrealistic expectations. This was a play-off match - probably the second most important game in the football calendar for us and if you expect there to be no tension, full on attacking football and no mistakes, you're in dream land. Dull as dishwatter - not from where I was standing - it was an entertaining play-off, particularly for the neutral.

Paul Warne's individual performance this season has been nothing short of sensational and even if we lose on Wednesday, he will have achieved much more than most people expected of him.

I must say Bornawhinger, that everytime an opportunity presents itself, you get stuck into our manager and it's not only unwarranted, but it's inappropriate, particularly for someone who calls himself a supporter. However, being an intelligent and knowledgeable football manager, I'm sure one of the key lessons he's learned this year is to ignore the serial moaners.

We haven't got many options. Newell is probably our only outlet. Midfield is static. Too late now but should have blooded Wiles. As I've said Emmanuel though limited getting forward was immense in every other aspect.

"suggest you have totally unrealistic expectations"

You are absolutely right there - I expect a lot from professional footballers and the management thereof.

Just watched the Coventry v Nott's match and they both produced a better performance under
rain affected conditions.

Very disappointed.

PS: The referee's mistake cost Notts the win - never a penalty.

They are all professionals - and some can't even adjust their body shape and / or think fast enough to affect a clearance - then kick our own keeper - when he the ball in his hand.

The price tag is indeed a heavy burden !

Very disappointed and not in a very forgiving mood at the moment !

On the bright side we can't play any worse.

One has to be evidenced based to shut out our own internal nonsense. The iron on a great run and we are adjusting. A draw was not just fair but good .

Over 2 pegs that a win. A 1-0 start . They have to score and then the math and the up and down and who knows. But , the bookies had a home win or draw reasonably close for scunny home leg. At NYS they r giving us 3-1

It wasn't just that though was it, the whole lead up to that 1st goal. We've just scored, time to chill get in some possession take some control. Williams then goes on a wild run like we're in the 93rd minute and need to score, loses it in which Mattock has stepped right up and quite embarassingly for such a seasoned pro, gets megged, Woody who's then stepped across to try and plug his gap is then in a foot race with a player 3 times as fast. Then the clearance, everyone on this board would have tried to clear that, to only get a connection with the studs is completely lacking in concentration, there is no other word for it. Ihiekwe has been good in recent weeks, even he will know it's lax, he'll be kicking himself for sure.

The second goal is an outright mess, neither Smith or Ajayi can win a simple header against Toney in fact I think they bump each other - had Ihiekwe not got involved does Rodak get enough of a push in the ball to take it out of the scorers path? And all this came from a throw that I'm positive should have been given our way.

I said months ago, the calamity may cost us. It's rare great play wins anything these days, it's those that make least mistakes. Last World Cup - Germany must have been one of the most boring uninspiring winners ever of the competition, guess what they'll do it again. They aren't the best technically but best at doing what wins things the way the game is played these days? - absolutely.

Teams will win the play offs because of errors from their opposition - that doesn't fill me with the most confidence.

Bornamoron is just on either a huge wind up or a massive ego trip. As ian said a 2-2 draw in the away leg is a terrific result with the home leg to come against a team who will be without their first choice keeper & have 11000+ fans baying for blood. There's a lot still to do but we can & WILL do it.
