Well done Warney / Staff / Players

Nice to see you back posting Smiler.

While Born's view is in his own lovely styling, I agree with some of them as undetones, or a warning if you will and a sprinkling of the horrible reality.

What keeps me from going down that dark pessimistic line though is that

1. We have experience of what it needs / takes
2. Lessons have been learned
3. If the gaps are now so big between leagues, what's the point. My faith in the football system still gives me hope that it's not all a fruitless exercise just yet get promoted

We have to go for it - otherwise we might as all quit going now

Of course they will go for it. One thing this team and the management staff has shown over the season is that they are all in it together and giving everything they have to succeed.

Oh, and welcome back Smiler thumbsup.gif

If we get promoted I just hope we've learned the lessons of going cap in hand to Nottingham Forest for any of their OAP's.

Top 5 budget, we must have. Work it out say a average wage of £2,500 a week for about 20 players. That's over £2 million a season. Then you have the manager & his assistant + coaches wages. Other expenses, stewards/police ect...

Smudger was as good a signing we could have made. Play our best side when it matters got every chance of being back in the championship. That's when squad will want a major overhaul.

You see Ex - I don't see it as a disaster - to play the Burnley way would be a masterstroke! And watching a team that was developed (within our means) with the discipline and patience and a counterattacking threat would be wonderful to watch (for me ).

Any boxer that steps into the ring that is in any way mis-matched does not come out swinging punches. You wait your opportunity and frustrate your opponent into reaching too far then punching his lights out.

My grouse has always been the TS knew this way back when but the fans were appalling and lacked knowledge of the football realities a club of our size faces. Alongside the football being played to stifle our opponents we were ( passed tense ) dedicated to using the dosh to fund the Tinsley academy.

When the plug was pulled and Mr Warne was left to manage he tried to play football and we were well beaten. You can't do that!

We are on the brink of the same step but no further along the football culture required to "prosper" - or at least give it a good go.

Just want the fans to appreciate what Burnley has done I believe we must do because we can't buy a championship team....but we can buy a competitive one!
