Not too disappointed

I can't form an opinion if I wasn't there. I go to all the home games so that's what I go on. It's not ideal but could get away with it playing Towell & Palmer together in midfield in most home games. But neither is a holding midfield player & of the two Towell would play if we need a defensive midfielder.

T71 - I'm kicking myself for getting involved in this discussion, but for the sake of my sanity and your education, surely you see that when you state that 'I just go on what I see' followed by ' last week at Southend, I wasn't there but most were saying Palmer was the weak link' is a complete contradiction and undermines any authority in your stated opinion of Palmer's ability. Please tell me that you understand the difficulty Banter followers have understanding your true perspective?!

Glenn, I knew you would crack sooner or later.  You lasted longer than I did and I admire you for that.

We are dealing with somebody who only goes to home games and only goes on what he sees, but is dismissing Palmer after a very obvious MoM performance based on (1) the fact that Burton were willing to sell him (for a fee) and (2) what he heard someone else say about the Southend game.  No mention of the fact that Palmer was also spectacularly good away at Northampton, who drew with Shrewsbury four days later.

He criticised Warne for playing Forde a while ago on the basis that Forde is one of 'Warneys Boys' but wanted Forde to start ahead of the other wide players on Friday because Forde works harder and tracks back.

He also thinks that Bailey-King (is he still a footballer?) should be retained and played next season even if we go up.  B-K has played a total of about 20 minutes in home games for us, only 2 games in total, and couldn't get a game at North Ferriby United.  Presumably that opinion is based on the aforementioned twenty minutes.

I am all for different opinions but when they that bizarre, inconsistent and repeated so often it is maddening.  I feel like if I don't say something he might think I agree with him and fall into the trap of engaging.  I have now officially given up.  Nothing  personal to T71.  I am sure he is a lovely bloke but on this forum there is no point in trying to have a rational debate with him.  Normal rules seem not to apply.

The fact that any fan is "terrified" at playing certain players - in certain positions paints a picture of the quality and lack of strength in our squad.

I share your fear - Semi scares me to death as well - he struggles to get those long legs sorted and his brain doesn't compensate by "anticipating" - the product of experience - but hey ho he's a PW type player.

They can only get better .....?

Smiler - thanks for that - you've saved me a session on the psychiatrist's couch on Tuesday morning!

Yet another dig at our club."Bornamiller" is a joke of a user name, anything but. After one of the most entertaning matches on Friday and one which we dominated with the number of chances created, how could any true Miller criticise the squad.Fair enough we should have had more goals but the goals will come and I am not worried about anyone in the play-offs.

I'd rather be a positive position to say the goals are being taken well. The goals will come is an optimistic statement a real coach works on....

In training....

I'd start with scoring a goal once you've beaten the defence.

A gimme for any pro'

The squad - per-se are open to scrutiny - the second goal last week when Semi went AWOL costing us the game....do that in the play-offs and it will cost us the season !

Any true miller..?......what do you want to do sunshine compare scars....lol

Grow up...

Such a pity we are just a little old League 1 English club and not Real Madrid FC. Oh well, never mind.

There is a clear difference in the type of posts from those that have played the game and coached the game and managed teams...

And those that haven't.

The former posts refer to tactics - quality - ability and reasonable expectations of "professional" football players......

The latter just want to state that the manager is brill' - the players are "trying" hard so ok.

This is a football forum - to identify the good and the bad and discuss the subject matter openly and whether individuals agree or not....this game is all about opinions...and there isn't a football team on the planet that doesn't assess the previous game and train to get better.
