New York Stadium to host Euro2018 U17's Final

Yes, folks Rotherham United say that this summer's European U17's Championship Final will be held at the New York Stadium. The NYS will stage five games including the Final. The international matches will take place between 4th-20th May.

This event should help the club and the local economy.

Can't wait!

UTM!

Sheffield United saying attending such games should be / is a civic duty. So far well attended and quite right too!

It is an honour to host such games and always attend even if they do nick my seat every time.

Use the opportunity to see the games from all over our wonderful stadium.

Get your tickets early....you may be watching future loan players !

Holland v Italy in the final at the NY Stadium Sunday 20th May 2018 kick off 6.15pm. Both teams have shown good form in the run up to the final. Holland may just edge it to win.

Apart from the England games @NYS, Walsall & Chesterfield the attendances have been embarrassingly pathetic. 1061 @ NYS for a quarter final (Italy v Sweden) on a hot Sunny Sunday afternoon with £1 admission. When we(RUFC) got the nod to stage five games including the final I mistakenly thought it was a feather in the cap for the club, how wrong was I? 456 for the first game, 6100 (officially) for the England game but in truth there was less than 3000,1061 for the quarter final, around 1500 mostly schoolkids for the semi final, if Sunday's Final gets more than 3000 I'll be amazed. Major disappointment for the club & the town IMO.

I'm still going to the final. Whether there's one or a thousand and one at the game. I'll enjoy the moment.
PS. There's not much else to do in Rotherham Town Centre on a Sunday evening.

Congrats to the young Dutch side who came through 4-1 on pens after an exciting 2-2 draw with Italy. Some of these kids will make it big they're that good.
