A strange game from the off. A lack of atmosphere in the ground. They were bright, quick and sharp. We were slow, sloppy and predictable. No spark, nobody getting the game by the scruff of the neck. They played all the football and were good value for the win. We got away with a pedestrian display against Donny but came unstuck today.
The run we have had has been excellent, but had to come to an end some time. No good beating ourselves up about it.
I suppose nows the time when the tough get going, psychologically speaking. It could be there may be a bit of a loss of concentration creeping in having done so well; the feeling that we're almost there and the foot has come off the gas a bit.
The end of a fantastic run, no complaints, disappointing but we can't win em all.
Looked fit enough but made poor choices and at times disjoint, though Smith was quite poor and not MOM at all. Hopefully it's a blip and we can rediscover our form. What has Taylor done? He can't buy a game.
I take Calypso's point that "we can't win them all" but although I normally agree with him I can't accept that we should have "no complaints". We are at the business end of the season and we were home to the third from bottom club and they outplayed us. Frankly it was shocking.

Frustrating day all round. When my journey took 45minutes longer than usual, I knew the day wasn't going to end well. Rodak was outstanding - not seen their goal back yet but he didn't appear to have any chance? None of the outfield players covered themselves in glory and no-one had the composure on the ball to pick out a good pass. I suspect there was a bit of complacency in Rotherham's approach which they couldn't shake off and, Smiler is correct, the atmosphere was dreadful. Warne's post match interview was honest and factual - hopefully he can regather them and get them back to winning ways. Well done to Rochdale who 'did a job' on us. The run was good while it lasted - time to test the metal of the squad now.
I thought Rochadale had three or four players who would significantly improve our side if they played for us. The lad Henderson impresses me every time I see him. Some of his touches and lay-offs were stunningly good. In the second half he took out two defenders by taking down a high ball on the turn and setting off a counter attack, and there was an audible gasp of admiration from everyone in the ground. The ginger haired lad in central midfield was also very good indeed. He was mobile, first to any second ball, composed and strong in possession and generally ran the show. The lad who scored the goal was a genuine threat all afternoon. I really can't understand why they are where they are in the league.
Smith seems to be getting stick from yesterday. I thought the MoM award was dubious (Rodak was the obvious candidate which says plenty), but I thought Smith did well enough. He won more than his share of headers and flick-ons. I'm not sure what else was expected of him. He never got a decent cross into the box to attack. He spent 90 minutes with his back to goal trying to make something out of long balls and long throws and he did the best he could. Same with David Ball, he wasn't good but if we want a number ten who is going to just run channels and scrap for flick-ons and 50/50 balls we would be better picking Lavery or Yates. It just isn't his game.
The problem with being as predictable as we were yesterday is that players themselves think they know what is going to happen, so they stop making other runs or showing for the ball, and it becomes self-perpetuating.
The league table still looks good, so lets hope this game proves to be a chance to re-gather ourselves.
There was a bloke behind me in the West Stand yesterday giving Warne bucket loads of personal abuse. Unbelievable.
Agree about the atmosphere, I took two people to NYS for their first time yesterday, bigging up the crowd, goals, attacking displays all the way there! After 5 minutes and you could hear everything the players were saying I thought "hmmm, not going to end well today".
Anyway, I blamed the two people I brought, bloody Jonah's!!
The goal wrong disallowed was yet again due to poor refereeing standards. but this is league one what do we expect
But as warne came out and admitted we was poor and outplayed. Now was that due to complacency by the team, by the management or both. Keith hill mentioned arrogance around the fringes of the dressing room.
