Since KM went back to Ipswich

We have played a more attacking, entertaining and positive game.I am not criticising the big lad because he did score some important goals earlier in the season but we were one dimensional. Now we have a young fast improving squad that PW has put together and with the bench now as strong as it has been for a long time, first teamers are playing at their best to keep that shirt. The football we are playing is good on the eye and on the floor not hoofed up.It's a good time to be a Miller.

I think it's Smith's ability to play alongisde anybody and still link up play like he's done it 100 games with them that's the difference - KM had a lot of ability but nowhere near Smith for that side of his game.

It's the old cliche as well, teams that do well have lots of players who score - not 1 that chips in with most of them. Logically it works, mark KM out the game and we were done for.

When you've got Williams, Taylor, Palmer and Lavery on the bench too - we keep the injuries out and you just never know.

We should do what we can to sign Towell, Rodak's a no though seeing as hes just signed another contract with Fulham

This shows we have been able to adapt really well with the squad we have. Given the choice back then, all of us would have wanted KM to stay as his record with us was outstanding. It was almost as bad as losing Diko to wolves. These are the risks all lower league clubs take on with loan players, either they are outstanding and get recalled or they are a dog and the fans are in uproar as he can’t be returned and he’s stealing a wage again lol. I’m just hoping Brighton forget about towell at the end of the season as I’ve not seen a loan player give so much for a club he’s at every game for quite a while.

Kieffer did all that was asked of him and more. He played as a one up front often, which we haven't asked Smith to do yet. Smith is perhaps a bit more street-wise and may not score as prolifically as Moore did (we shall see) but he probably holds the ball and links play up a bit better.

We have got stick from the supporters of some teams we have beaten recently for being direct (hoofball) but the match statistics for what they are worth show that we have had minimum 50% possession in just about every game and considerably more than that in some, which confirms what we all know which is that whilst we have an option to go long if conditions or the game situation dictates it, we can definitely get the ball down and pass it at times as well. The way we won games when we started with two smaller forwards in Yates and Ball and also when playing one up front also suggests that we can find various ways to play and win.

Towell might be another case of a player doing too well on loan for us to keep them long term. I suspect he will be playing in the Championship next season. I think to have a chance of keeping him we will have to go up.

I agree, if Brighton stay up then I’d bet Towell will go on loan to another championship side due to his performances this year. Hopefully we will be up there to have a chance of taking on loan again..

I wonder whether Mrs Towell might prefer the extra thousands a week that some of the big Championship clubs might be able to pay him though Hillsborough, if Brighton stay up and decide to listen to offers? Lovely though Rotherham is, money sometimes talks. I haven't met either Richie or his wife and know next to nothing about them, but at the end of the day these lads have to do the best for their families while they can in whatever form that takes.

Yep, money motivates us all to work. Some of us just enjoy the job better than others. I would have thought 99% of players have money in the top 1 or 2 reasons to go to a club. I don’t have a problem with loyalty or if a player runs their contract down and leaves for free either. We all know how football works and players need to set themselves up for a long time after. Players who take a 3 year contract and then sit on their hands and do nothing no bother me more, but then again the club should not have given them such long deals. The 1 or 2 year deals with optional extension seem to work well for us.

Although it may appear that we are playing better football since Kieffer left ( we are) but it allowed us to change personal as well. At the start of the season our midfield duo Potter, Frecks ,Vaulks, and latterly Towel we’re NOT GOOD ENOUGH as a pair, no pace, so we had to employ three people in there to be competitive ! We are now good enough across midfield to compete and have reverted to two up top, which has put us firmly on the front foot, allied to this the defence have sorted their selves out and are performing to a much higher standard.
Im sure Warney will reflect that he swapped the team out far too often in an effort to find the best performers, he has now and we are
Playing much better stuff and are having much more possession well over 50% most games which did not happen at the beginning of the season ! all on all it’s worked out to a win, win , situation for all of us !

Have to think that sticking wasn't an option open to him. I think he was better than Smith although the new guy is settling in nicely into a team that's full of confidence and on form. KM got us goals when we were poor and his work rate was phenomenal. I'd like to see us get them both!

We earned that guy a lot of money and made his career as far as I'm concerned.

Good luck to him but want Barnsley relegated because ......
