Millers v Doncaster

JCH is on loan to Coventry. If he starts scoring for fun I'm sure he will be returned to us for the start of the 2018-19 season. In reality he will probably join another club. Then, and only then, will he be confined to history as far as we are concerned.

Today's game against Donny Rovers will not be a walk in the park as some are expecting it to be. Nonetheless I'm going for a slim winning margin where we will be victorious. Another clean sheet perhaps?
2-0 to the Millers.

Come On You Reds!!!!!!!!!

PS One for the horseracing punters I understand that a NH racehorse has been given the name Wotzizname. The horse has a 50% strike rate.

PPS It's not every day that I contribute to a thread started by a Bear. It's so surreal and off the wall.

Yep a tough game today but no more so than scun Thorpe or Shrewsbury. It will be interesting to see how donny set up, defensive and hit on the break? That’s a risky strategy considering how many goals we are scoring. Still sticking with my score prediction UTM

Going to go off the Johno theme. Best thing that's happened to us this season: getting Vaulks & Towell in midfield. Our strikers Smith looks the pick, better than I thought. At this level we're at which I wouldn't say is high we are good value for were we are in the league. Predict a win today, would love to see us totally dominate a side, look good & get the oppositions net bulging a few times.

Play well enough winning to want some of the new fans this season to return for the rest of the season.

Smith has been better than I thought as well. Some players suit certain teams/type of play much better than others.

Well that's a great result for the depth of the squad as a whole. The more "fit" pro's we have the better at this stage of the season - "the run-in" as they say.

As long as the there are no long faces and they fit in when needed then end of season injuries and red cards / yellow card bans will be pain free.

Touch Wood......pardon the pun.

I think the team are taking this game pretty seriously, i’ll explain after the game if we are successful 😉

Are you going to share the secret MillerBear?

Great afternoon at NYS. Typical derby - scrappy with lots of running about but not much quality. For some reason, Rovers high balls caused our defence all sorts of problems today. I thought Newell had a very average game but he supplied a great cross for the equaliser and scored the winner which took some real bottle. Towell was outstanding - if ever we have had loanee who has given so much for the team I can't remember him. Smith battled well and was given little protection by the Ref, but he needs to be careful that he is not labelled a serial offender for backing in. I think he's got enough quality not to get so involved in the physical tussles that he constantly has. Nicely taken header though.

The end was the stuff of fairytales. To be honest, I would have been happy with a point but there was something inevitable about the winner. Despite protests by Fergusson and Donny fans on PandG, their timewasting was appalling and they really did get what they deserved!

I thought we were pretty poor today. There was a real lack of quality on display from both sides. It was an absolute carbon copy of the turgid game at the Keepmoat. When we got the ball wide and on the deck we were a threat, but we persisted in banging the ball aimlessly long, until late on when we did better. The result was that our more creative players just couldn't get into the game.
We definitely deserved at least a draw though and if either team deserved to win it was us. Doncaster seem to feel hard done by but in the two games against us combined they have managed four attempts on target, and one of them was Woody's own goal. They aren't very good. We have been poor against them twice. But a win is a win and the table doesn't lie at this point in the season. Winning when playing poorly is not a bad trait. I agree about Newell. He was off the pace today but had the kahunas to step of with the last kick of the game and stroke the penalty home. Good on him.

"QUALITY" goes out the window in Derby matches. Watching "Fergies" antics was entertainment in itself but the big finish was entertaining and to a full house.

I’ve Just about come back down to earth after yesterday. I think most comments on here are pretty fair. Not a great game, donny came with a plan to stifle and slow down the game from the first minute. All part of the game but doesn’t make it great to watch .... I can’t praise the guys enough for how they kept going to the end. Loved seeing PW pushing lavery at the end to chase down a no hopper that eventually led to the pen. Oh and my thoughts on the team taking it seriously? I heard that some of the team had not had their match day haircuts on Friday night.... seriously, that’s as much insight as I have lol. I’ll start the gillingham post and on we go again..
