Lavery has now joined on loan from SUFC till the end of May. I can't remember the last time a Rotherham manager had such a successful transfer window when he expressed his intentions before the window opened and filled those positions before the close. He must be doing something right or the boys behind the scenes have learned their lessons from previous bad experiences? We now wait to see if JCH will depart.
Glenn he may well end up stopping yet this rumoured deal for the Shamrock Rovers striker Michael O Connor has allegedly fallen through if there was any truth in in in the first place that is, seems a few different sources had him signing for us tomorrow but don't know now, if so doesn't seem much point him hanging around to be 5th/6th choice. Bloody frustrating though as I think most Millers fans agree there's a footballer body there but doesn't seem to be much "upstairs" if you see what I mean as regards attitude and commitment
I haven't seen much of Lavery but he ticks a lot of boxes. Good age, still got something to prove, league one experience. According to reports he is a different type of player to what we have already so he gives us another option.
I don't think JCH will leave unless or until we get another big target man in. Warne likes to have a big striker up front. If JCH left it would only leave us with Smith, and if he got injured we would be snookered. Even if Smith is fit it is good to have a similar player competing for the place and available off the bench. To be fair JCH has had real impact off the bench lately. If only he could start games and play for an hour like he played for fifteen minutes against Blackburn and Bradford (missed one on one notwithstanding) what a player we would have on our hands.
I don't understand this deal, another shop window for a club to showcase and offload its players. If we are consolidating and not trying for promotion then stick with the bunch we have.
