Matt Palmer has been signed from Burton on a two and a half year deal for an undisclosed fee (rumour has it it was about £300K). He's 22 and has 173 appearances with 9 goals (one cracker against us) mainly in League 1. He's the right age, got bags of experience, is on a good contract and is exactly what we needed after Frecks left. Well done Warney and the recruitment team. Let's hope we can boost his goals tally and that he can drive our midfield along. Welcome to the best side in League 1 Matt!!

Given a lot of stick to recruitment - but I think credit where it's due on this one. This lad looks like he's got talent, range of passing, box to box, can track back, he looks about as complete a centre mid we've had in a long time, and at such a young age too.
