Update: wotsisname
Now playing in Senior Masters league on Instanchess site. I haven't played as many games recently. Football has been uppermost in my thoughts.
Not played chess online for quite a while now. I'll be playing live games again quite soon. If anyone wants to watch me play live on Instanchess I will be posting up my times of play on here when I'll be active on the instantchess website. My games will not be interfering with the World Cup. For those people who aren't interested. Enjoy the weather!
Come on England!
Note to my inner self. Must get more enthusiastic about chess. During the last few weeks I've become very lethargic. Predicting the fortunes of national football teams should really take a back seat.
I've always liked farming, kempo. It runs in the family. Ploughing my own furrow has been the story of my life. Chess is the same.
As for the IP address issue with MM you could always obtain software to hide your IP address when logging in to the interweb.
I'm not bothered about such things as I've nothing to be concerned about.
By the way if it's the same Frog we all know and love, he must surely be an octogenarian by now.
I have been locked away in my cave working to achieve top spot in Premium League II
Cabin fever has not struck me at present and I'm sure I'll make it to League I in the fullness of time.
Chess update for me on Instantchess Premium League II
Now played games: 1493
Won: 1424
Lost: 61
Draw: 7
Adjourned: 1
Jon Taylor MOTM against Bolton a few weeks ago. Well, it made me chuckle.
Been busy for a number of weeks on Instantchess site. Even been relegated from Premium League during my absence from that site. Now playing in League 1 but slowly climbing the table.
On the footballing front Forde voted MOTM for us at home to WBA by a small section of supporters. Clearly Warne has much to do to improve team performances. Look at WBA's loan player, Dwight Gayle. DG is a slightly built individual who put himself about quite a lot last Saturday. We have players of that ilk in our squad but Warne is playing those players out of position. We are content to keep lumping the ball up to Smith game after game without good effect. It's both exasperating and a total waste of energy. We had all that with Derbyshire and Revell. Warne needs to have a quick player/runner waiting to take through balls/knockdowns from Smith and al.
We are beginning to look tired and Warne needs to have a re-think. It wouldn't take much to get back to winning ways.
Happy Christmas, everyone.
PS You can catch me in action tonight, Christmas Eve, on the Instantchess site.
I'll be playing in front of a live audience, chess buffs and al at a local hostelry from 8.00 p.m. Have the pop and crisps ready. There's gonna be some fireworks.
Now in number 1 spot in League II. It ain't been easy. Will soon be in the Premium League. Toes crossed with a following wind should see me hit land quite soon. Kismet Hardy.
Temporarily knocked off top spot due to an unforced error. My dad often made me aware of unforced errors. Why mention my dad at this point? Truth is, I could never beat him at chess. I had to learn by my many mistakes. I have, but I'm still learning. The players from the Far East and Belarus are particularly strong players
Latest news....
Have just regained top spot in the League.
Well done mate, quite an achievement. I admire your tenacity to keep going. As I mentioned when you first started this thread that I was taught by my dad (like you) who I could never beat; I soon became bored and too lazy to formulate a battle plan and just tried to counter his moves, so never developed as a player but have respect for those, who have stuck at it.
Another tumbleweed Tuesday on Millers Banter. Currently I'm in 13th place in the Premium League II. Many of the stronger players at the top of the table don't or rather won't give me a game and so I'm unable to pick up the bonus points required to keep me at the top. I'm getting so bored of the EU/UK Brexit debate too. The old guard parliamentarians from all sides are trying very hard to keep us in the EU by using stealth. It was that stealth that took us into the EU under Edward Heath's watch in the early 1970's.
Research tells me that the UK may not actually still be a legal member of the EU. It appears that several Acts of Parliament would support that argument. The Act of Settlement 1701 to name but one.
Right now TV turned off, mobile turned off, PC to be turned off and then I'm off just like Wittgenstein.
