Yes we can't deny that most of us were wrong early on in the season, myself included, but there were/are very good reasons for our scepticism. However the proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say and sitting reasonably comfy in 7th position is proof enough.
Having said that, I still believe that the supporters would be much more forgiving if Tony Stewart let us into what at the moment appears to be a huge secret, namely the plan for the future of the club. The silence from the board room only invites speculation from the uninformed and rumour on the terraces, which by-en-large is negative and counter productive.
Is there a vision for the future ? Is established Championship football the aim? Are we going to foster a blossoming youth academy? And over what kind of time scale? Are we seeking further investment?
A bit of openness would go a long way for all the fans to keep the faith
totally agree. we may get a glimpse of his so called rethought out vision at the end of this transfer market and the summer one
i must admit it has made me smile the north stand no longer chant his name
Played the right way - within a system that suits him he'll go far....he has all the attributes that Yates is blatantly missing. That would be a bargain and one for the future for them.
I wonder if he's a PW type player...that is - on low wages.
Lavery and Carruthers from sufc poss in for Friday on loan, hear both keen to come. Matty Palmer at Burton looking less likely but you never know. Poss 1 more striker as well before deadline. Oldham still wanting JCH.ning.
Lavery is quite quick and a busy player but not an out and out striker/finisher from what I have seen of him. Carruthers is a quality midfielder - comfortable on the ball, a good passer and always available to have the ball. Someone who works at The Lane has told me that the Lavery move is definitely a live chance.
I don't know much about Palmer at Burton except that he scored a screamer against us at their place last season.
In any case it appears that at least a couple of other clubs think Vaulks is worth at least half a million and Warne reckons two million, so on that basis I can't spot a player. I do wonder whether Warney is just talking up any bids, since I don't think once picked Vaulks in his first choice midfield when he had other options available. Since Vaulks has 18 months on his contract, if other teams really do want him we should make sure they pay top dollar to get him. I am fed up of us giving players away for less than market value.
HI lads, According to sources at Shamrock Rovers both clubs have agreed a fee for Republic of Ireland international striker Michael O'Connor and is expected to sign before next Wednesdays deadline day quality addition to your squad as i said before, and all the best in your promotion push unbeaten in 9 that's excellent form all the best.
Let's give the new guy a chance he has a good week to train with the team
. But barring injury to towell or vaulks I think he will be on the bench. Just need a striker now. Jch should not have missed the one on one
Either Down to lack of confidence or just showing why he is 3rd or 4th choice
This must be the longest running thread in the history of Millers Banter. Why open a new thread every time a new player is signed? What's wrong with this thread?

i though creating this would keep all the transfer gossip and movements in and out on one thread
i think the last piece of the puzzle transfer wise will be a striker lavery on loan from blades i wonder if we have an option to buy if he turns out ok
in summer we will need
GK X2
CD X2
depending on players leaving at least 2 central midfielders 1 right winger
2 strikers

I think you've answered your own question. What's wrong with this thread is 'that it's the longest running thread in the history of Millers Banter'! When people see a new OP about an incoming signing, they are likely to read it rather than wondering if someone has just added another pointless comment to the end of a long-running thread!
Then again, why not just have one thread entitled 'Football' - then we can all sift through it to see if there's anything interesting in it?!
